I'd prefer if you would just state if you planning on attending the meet or otherwise. We will automagically assume you're not going to be there if don't ask to be added to the list.

Not sure if I'll go or not...been waiting a month for a part and keep getting the runaround...don't really want to cause any problems by showing up since they have done a pretty good job of avoiding me so far. Than again maybe I'll just go and eat all the burgers! :shock:

It's all so very true. :( But at least I did own two Evos in the past and Wilson is constantly trying to push me into getting an Evo IX from San Rafael Mitsu. You'd think that he gets a comission from them or something. ;)

when is the evo 9 comming out? and how much

The theory is that it will be out sometime this month, though the exact date is so far unknown. Price is supposed to be about 500$ more per model, or so I recall.

BTW, in case anyone is wondering - you don't have to be on the list to attend the meet, obviously. We just want people to let us know who is going so that the shop that is holding the meet has an idea of how much food they need to buy, parking considerations and the like.

Unfortunatly I couldnt make it . On the way to pick up my brother, my EVO started detonatiing so bad that it sounds like I have rocks in the cylinders. I spent the whole day waiting in a Chevy dealership waiting for a tow truck.

No word yet. I had to wait around all day saturday for the slow tow truck. And sunday the dealership service dept was closed. Got a call today to verify that I want them to check everything out. Hopefuly it isnt anything serious, or if it is hopefuly its covered under warranty.

It has been a month of nail chewing nervousness for me. My EVO has been at the local dealership ( Barber Mitsubishi/Hyundai of Fairfield ) For teardown and troubleshooting. First thing they asked for was service records. Unfortunately I am the second owner of this car and have had it for roughly only 9000 miles so the only records I have are my oil changes and some warranty work done at the purchasing dealership. The service guy Matt that I am working with is being extremely helpful with this. Fast forward two weeks the local Mitsu rep finally swings around our way. Turns out what I thought was a bearing or rod knock was really excessive crankshaft endplay and the rods were binding up causing a pinging noise. I get the call three days ago and am informed that warranty is covering everything except fluids. Now I can breathe a big sigh of relief and worry about other things.

WTF I thought the 4G63 in the Evo was fixed for the dreaded "Crankwalk" issue in the 2G eclipse... what gives?
