A quick question. I know that our rim specs. is 5x114.3. I just noticed on my Volks that it says 5x100. It fits just fine but I was wondering why it says 5x100 instead of 5x114?

Maybe your wheel has 2 bolt patterns?

I was thinking of that also. I figured since Volks is suppose to be one of the high end rims, they would make the rims specifically for a certain car and not have 2 bolt patterns.

I think those are CE28Ns... Looking at the picture of the wheel, it does look like 2 distinct bolt patterns. the 5x100 is probably the other pattern.

Ray's Engineering use the same casting on all their wheels. When the wheels are done and cooled off, then they drill the holes to fit whatever car per application. This is done to cut cost down. It just happen the surface area of 5x100 is very close to that of an EVO which is 5x114.3

Volks are not multi-drilled like swiss cheesy Racing Hart is. You won't see multi holes in them and then covered by some cheesy hub caps. Just to let you guys know Racing Hart been importing wheels in the past that were made in the Philippins, South Africa, and China and have the cast "Made in Japan" on them.

Now I bet some Subaru cry baby is whining about how come his LE28N say 5x114.3 on them when they should be 5x100. :D

The other hole you see are what I call "glory holes" or "design holes". Look at them closely and there are barely any material that can support the vehicle weight. So no, they are not multi-pattern drilled wheels. Hard to distinguish 5x100 to 5x114.3 just at a glance.

my ce28n's had all three bolt patterns available forged into the rim 4x100, 5x 100, 5x114.3 as well as the max weights that each bolt pattern was designed to carry. This allows them to make one forging for all three bolt patterns to keep costs down. Look further and you should find the other two bolt patterns listed just like the 5x100.
