Just found out from a friend that they are making a new Motorsports super complex... all kinds of racing can happen here. Click on Park Map. #9 is the Road course, they even have an Oval

Just spoke with the management there. They won't have the road course open until the 07 season, but it will be great!

Old news for sure over here. Numerous race tracks have been proposed in various locations of the Central Valley in the last twenty years and none have ever received final approval for construction.

I sure hope it happens but I think WORKS will make a TR650 kit for the Evo first!

We should write letters to the Merced County supervisors to show our support: http://www.rmpracing.com/support_letter.pdf

I can draft up a form letter if anyone's interested.

This was a quick reminder for people who weren't around during 2004 :)

Go for it Tam, I'll sign one. The Merced area could really use the economic support as well. 8)

All right, here it is:

Instructions

1. Download the following two files (right click, "Save As"... you know the drill):
http://www.vtluu.net/misc/RMP_support_OBanion.rtf
http://www.vtluu.net/misc/RMP_support_Sloan.rtf

2. Open each letter in Wordpad, Microsoft Word or whatever other word processor that you want. Edit the lines and areas marked with ">>__" appropriately. You can modify the middle paragraph or delete it entirely if it doesn't apply to you.

3. Print each letter and sign it.

4. Send--by "snail" mail--RMP_support_OBanion.rtf to the following address:

Mr. Jerry O’Banion
Merced County Board of Supervisors
2222 M Street, 3rd Floor
Merced, CA 95340

And RMP_support_Sloan.rtf to the following address:

Mr. Steve Sloan
Merced County Planning Commission
2222 M Street, 2nd Floor
Merced, CA 95340

Yes, the two addresses are in the same building, but send each letter separately. Don't bother with E-mail or fax, those tend to get ignored. The idea is to generate a volume of written support.

Feel free to forward this to other local car/motorsports forums and mailing lists.
