Nice, re-laquered them?

Seen a bunch of the UK guys do that.

What process did you use? I'd have to say that looks really good man...

How'd you fix them? Were your brembos peeling from you getting brake fluid on them? I just installed some SS brake lines on my car and it was a b*tch trying to keep the calipers dry.

yeah i peeled practically the entire caliper... with my fingernail/piece of plastic.. washed with soapy water...then sanded lightly 400 grit.. washed it again...then i put 4 coats of duplicolor now this is where it gets alittle wierd.. i was going to use laquer.. but i couldn't find heat resistant... so i used.. well here's a pic of what i used...

engine enamel.. i think it will hold up fine... up to 500 deg F...

mine have been peeling since about 5k miles.. (it's an 03) the first year i had the car.. i guess tons of people have had the same problem... i really think it was a problem from the manufacturing process...

If you go to the track, you will light those on fire.

Look good though. 8)

mine had 2 track days and 3 drag days on them and never had a problem but mine wernt brembos. Hard to say but I think they will hold up though too bad they dont make it in 1200 degrees instead of 500 degrees. Please let us know how they last.

earlyapex... so you don't think 500 will hold up? on a side note... i don't go to the track much...(ever) but i wouldn't mind going.. anyway.. i checked my pads.. and i still have a ton of pad left... i thought i'd have less... anyway i have done 2 autocrosses (in 2003) with these pads and have almost 22 k miles on the car..

They should be fine if you aren't a track monster.

Seeing your before photos, and seeing the brembos where still red, means you don't get them very hot anyway.

its so funny.. everyone was whinning about their pinkbos, who would have thought there was such and easy fix that had apparently been done in the UK for some time.

Wow, great job!

My rear calipers are peeling too after dealer bled my calipers, and I tried some clear coat touch-up, but it didn't hide that pink color at all.

I know nothing about paint, but how it is possible to get full red color after sending and just spraying clear enamel?

I thought I might have to touch-up with red enamel, but this seems to work so much better!

Didn't you peel any part of that white "Brembo" letters by sending it?

BTW, it is kind of off-topic, but did you try to paint the hood vent yet?

My hood vent paint is almost gone, and I can see metal surface. I purchased a spray paint (black high heat enamel), but do I have to clean off those faded paint and sand it before I spray the enamel or should I use some kind of primer? Or just spray the enamel on the remaining paint?

I painted my hood vent. Came out really good for $8. I used the Metal Cast base coat 100, for a Ralliart knock-off look. No pealing or flaking.

Sorry, I really know nothing about paint, but did you remove those black paint and then use Metal Cast? Or did you just put Metal Cast over the paint?

Just cleaned it really good to degrease it. Sanded it lightly with 1000 grit paper. Washed it again then sprayed it.

I haven't painted my hood vent yet... myabe if i get a carbon fiber hood... but that's unlikely.. my vent is so worn/faded that it kind of is starting to look ok..

Haven't I been trying to get you to come out? :P Those rotors are too pretty. You gotta come to the track now so we can see if they'll catch on fire.
