Unlike most tubular 02's, the WORKS 02 is a one piece cast similar to the stock unit. What differentiates the WORKS 02 from others:

1.you will pass smog visual inspection.
2.maintain all factory heatshields in their stock fitment & place(mounts to stock brace).
3. less heat transfer to engine bay w/ factory heat shields.
4. no rattles, cracks etc over the life of the 02....same lifespan as stock. .
5. maintains exhaust temp and therefore increases flow by reducing back pressure.
6. the only measured 3 inch system w/ WORKS developed gasket.

For me, I'm willing to wait an extra 4 months to save up enough to buy the WORKS piece. Passing an under-the-hood inspection is very important to some people on NCE.

I'm more offended that they're talking so much about the O2 sensor, and it's not frickin available until 11/30!!!

It's not even available but it's on sale already.

Mike, it's not $430. It's $480 with a $50 discount. Consider yourself lucky!

What about a deal on installation if you buy the 02 housing and the 10.5 hotside at one time? This comes with a flash right or can I get a custom flash? (Dyno or on the Road)

Yes, WORKS will also be offering a package with the 10.5 hotside. As with all WORKS components, applicable Brain Flash upgrades will be available for free to original owners :) Custom tuning is also available at hourly rates.

Yes and yes :)

The WORKS unit is unique in that it:
*is a cast piece like OEM (for long-term durability),
*incorporates the factory mounting point for the support bracket (again, for durability),
*incorporates all factory mounting points for the heatshield (for fit, finish and durability),
*and has a larger outlet to the downpipe (for performance--after all, if you're choking the outlet to stock size, there's not much of a performance benefit).

No other housing on the market has all (or any?) of these features.

The piece is beutifully done.. no doubt, but considering its a pain in the ass to install ( and not cheap if you have someone do it) and the gains are minimal seems like all that money would be spent better somewhere else.. just my opinion.. you half way to a TME turbo in price

Finally a definite release date for these bad boys! Durability, quality looks tight, and very stealthy. An excellent compliment to the WR. I guess I need to start saving up.

One question? Is a prototype header in the works--stealthy like the 02 housing?

Phase 1: I'm currently looking into the Motor-Back set-up (header, WR turbo, 02 housing, DP, HFC, etc.)! 8)

No headers have been thrown into the mix yet. We haven't seen much room for improvement on the OEM cast design. There are a number of high horsepower cars retaining the piece and speculation that it doesn't become a bottleneck until your 500-ish HP.

Header for stock turbo'd Evo = bling/brag in beginning, rust in the end, alot of extra heat, 2whp and cracking/loose bolts...yuck

Jamie, have you guys looked into extrude hone of stock exhaust manifold and then cc'ing it to see if improves or is it already to thin structurally to even try?
