Happy to do it man!

What really surprised me with the skidpad action was the difference between Tony's and Bryan's cars. It was quite obvious that Bryan's car was more willing to shake it's ass. Tony was having a hard time getting the rear end to come around. In fact I can't say I ever saw it come around at all. I don't know if this was due to the difference in tires, spring rates, dampening, rear sway bar (or it's setting), or just a difference in the factory driveline between 03's and 05's.

It would be interesting to narrow this down. There may be factors at play here that could make a signifigant difference in laptimes.

My 03 is pretty tail happy.. it only takes a little flick and some throttle to bring the end around..just throw on a strut bar, sway bar harness bar etc and you will get all the tail wagging action you want..so im not sure if its a difference between model years, more like car setup.

WTF is a strut bar going to do to get the tail end around? And I have no idea what a sway bar harness is.

The differences I think that contributed were:

1. Maybe the front LSD?
2. He was on 280 wear Toyo Proxes, I was on Falken Azenis Sports.
3. He has significantly more power than me. I rode in his car during our skidpad session and he could just step on the gas and get the tail end to come out with ease.

I'm able to get do donuts for days in dirt or a wet surface. I'm also able to rotate the car easily on the track. Oh well. We can't all be JDM DriFTz0r MaztarZ!! (Like I would want to anyways  )

Here I am in all my underopowered grip glory.

Thanks for the pix Evan.

I also had my ACD set in Snow mode. With it set on Tarmac it was MUCH harder to break rear wheel traction. Gravel was about the same as Snow as well.

If we had video footage of my antics, everyone would have saw how not a DriFtO MaSTeR I am as I lost a perfect sideways 2nd gear power drift and almost went backwards into the dumpster there.

Like I said I wonder how much was do to the differentials. Just curious is all.

What is the F/R split in the various ACD settings? I always figured the tarmac was the most rearward biased setting.

It's always 50:50 split no matter what, ACD just determines how fast and often it goes from open to locked diff and vice versa.

Here is a good thread I just posted last week about it:
