It seems to me my 03 EVO VIII runs stronger at night. does anybody Know if the difference from day to night conditions has that much of an effect on performance on these cars???Thanks in advance any input is appreciated.

Oh yeah! My Evo is stronger at night cuz of the cold air... 8) Everyone's should be!!!

Faster in the early mornings too!

Cold air is more dense, so there's more 02 going into the engine per unit volume. More 02 means more combustion = more power.

Don't forget the foggy weather too... 8)

Um yea duH  I know cold air is more dense Its just that Ive owned many performance cars. And i have to say none of them were as sensitive to day to night cond. as this one.It feels like 10-15 hp on the butt dyno. :o

freezing sea air + fog = the best turbo weather on the planet.. which im pretty sure parts of norcal have. I love when the fog is so dense you can barely hear your exhaust and it start condensing on your car at high speeds.. natures intercooler indeed. I plan on getting tuned for this type of weather..

Hmm... if cold air is nature's intercooler, is foggy weather nature's water injection kit?

Any turbo car should be similar.. Naturally asperated cars will not show as much of a difference.

That said, i had a 84 RX-7 that also loved cold air.. So it really depends on the car.

So would it be safe to assume that our Evos perform better in winter temperatures during ski season in Tahoe? Colder = more HP gains right?

too cold can become a hindrance also, cant really explain it in full details but i remember reading it somewhere before.

Well, don't for get about elevation.. higher elevation == slower evo.
