Well, long story short my wing is deteriorating. You can easily see it starting to go, and it makes me wonder what I sould do. I've been thinking about going wingless, but then there will be the two holes left on the trunk. So my question is did you have to get a new trunk lid, and did it come painted, and is it possible to have the holes filled in? If you got a new lid, how much did it cost?

I'm still kind of on the ropes, because I like the wing, but I think it would look hot without it....

There are paint shops that can fill the hole in. I dont know what it costs to do that though. They can Weld it or Bondle it. I would weld it though.

I bought my Evo used and it was already wingless. It has stickers over the holes, and it looks completely ghetto. But since I will probably put the wing back on at some point, I will likely buy an RS trunk and have it repainted silver. If you want the cheap solution, have it filled, and be sure to buy the RS torsion bars. The other thing that sucks when the wing comes off is that you'll see some noticeable bulging in the trunk because of the screws, and potentially more if you stress the trunk when removing the wing.

I'm currently wingless, I go back and forth. :)

I'm using white electrical tape to cover the holes. Can't really tell from a distance, but it works. Also, there are like 7 holes you need to cover, not just 4. :)

weld is cool if your not going to place the wing back on.. myself iwould bondo it so you can still find your holes later on and drill it out if you want... but what i did was get yourself a color matched vinyl and have it cut into circles big enough to cover the holes so that when you want to put on your wing it wont be that hard...

Electrical tape  Kidding a professional auto body shop will do them.

I just went down to autozone and got some body clips that fit the hole size. so it looks a little less hetto then just stickers.

Yeah, I might try warranty. I would like to go wingless regardless of the damage on the wing, but still have the option in the future. Thanks for the input everyone.

Mine is doing the same thing. It IS covered as long as you are under 3 years / 36K miles. I am getting mine fixed when I go home for Christmas.

mine is going really fast on my 2003.. this is a bunch of crap thats its only covered under the 3 year deal.. i mean eventually its gonna eat a whole right through!.. instead of trying to bondo your wing or whatever.. why not have the center portion painted black?... I might paint the CF area to match the vortex generator.. problem solved. And ill still no its carbon fiber.

does the warranty only apply if you are paying for it? or is it automatically given when the vehicle is bought??

You get a manufacturer's warranty when you purchase the car. I think the 05's have an insanely longer warranty than the previous models, though. Isn't it something like 100k miles?

100k is for the powertrain not bumper to bumper.

i believe it's 10/100 for powertrain and 5/50 for bumper to bumper for 05s
