FTOs were sold overseas. FWD, NA small 6 cylinder MIVEC motor about 200hp. Made to compete with the Integra Type R and the Nissan Pulsar VZR N1.

Always thought those where cool cars. Bummer we didn't get them. I guess it's their answer to the eclipse overseas.

They weren't sold over here, so how are you going to buy one used? You could import one, but good luck dealing with the DOT and DMV...

You're asking something about something that doesn't exist.

If pink polka-dotted elephants existed, how much would they weigh?

back when it was released, it worked out something like $30K same price as the eclipse 2nd Gen. in between the GSX and GST.

In Japan anywhere from $1000-$5000. The top of the line GPX model is approaching $5000.

For about that price you can pick up a Integra Type R...

seems that people have seen this elephant ...

but still for a '97 car (the one in the pic) 1k-5k is kinda expensive

1k is expensive for a 9yr old car? Some 14yr old DSM's still go for over $3500.

A friend just sold a 91 Talon TSi AWD in good condition for $4500.

If you know where to buy 9yr old cars in good shape for $1,000, let me know so I can buy some.

Used cars are really cheap in Japan. Most people like new cars and the used cars are hard to pass inspection and get increasingly more expensive to inspect and register as they get older.

Here's a Evo IV for about $3000.

Edit: that price is not entirely accurate as it's an auction and the price is going up.

+1 Lived there and done that. Cars there are cheaper used. I bought a mint condition Civic Hatch for $500 bones in 99. 8)

I had one pimped out on the Original Grand Turismo. Interesting car. It would be neat if we had them here.

yup that is true. thats why they import so many engines here with low miles. due to ppl not wanting to pay for stricter inspection.

Btw the fto was the best all around car in Gran turismo. haha

Bah, the original Gran Turismo had pretty messed up physics. When you go lightweight a already lightweight car you can make the car so light it will fly off bumps and not just get air time but actually stay in the air...
