Just wondering if anyone can provide me any feedback comparing the drop-in to the cone filter. any thoughts? are there any considerable differences between them? would the dealer void warranty after seeing any of them? thanks. :D

Just go with the drop in.... I have had both on different evos.. the Drop in is quieter.. if you really want too hear more you can just cut the top of your airbox off :P

And double-posting (http://www.norcalevo.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7868) too.

i was goin to ask in that other thread but i thought it'd be off-topic and i didnt want to go off on tangents like an idiot talkin about a million things at once in one thread ... so i posted another one wid more specific question.

If you *really* want to do the cone filter, I'm selling my old one (only used for 3 days). Let me know, it's only $75. :)

Tam is relatively unforgiving, but that helps us maintain high quality posts on NCE.

With the drop-in, you'll hear a little more of the recirculation, but you won't mistake it for a BOV sound, so don't get your hopes up. If you need the BOV sound but don't want idling / stalling problems, get a WORKS / GFB BOV that you can adjust from full recirc to some amount of VTA.

I have a feeling that would subject the intake to a bit more engine heat. Which is bad.

 I have a WORKS drop-in filter (http://www.worksevo.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=133) which is about as open as they get and although I get a decently good noise when I lift off, I don't think it'd ever be mistaken for a BOV.
