Hi im a new evo owner in monterey. I just bought a new 06 evo mr on new years eve. Im usually an old school muscle car guy but I figured Id give one of these new japanese hot rods a go. I dont know much about how to modify and tune these cars so any info will be appreciated.

Sorry guys i dont speak the language so I dont know what your talking about

an exhaust system from the turbo to the end of the car is called a "turbo-back". Much like headers to the muffler on muscle cars.

A flash is rewriting code on the cars computer.

Basically turbos do not like much back pressure so you can free up alot of power by getting rid of restrictions after the turbo charger.

I know too much about these cars so feel free to ask my any questions you might have.

and welcome!

welcome to forums, i'm sure you will enjoy your evo as much, if not more, than any other muscle car you may have owned  ....but then again i am biased :D

but like the others have said, a TBE and flash (or other tuning device), would be a great starting point. you will free up quite a few ponies :D

hello sparky,

welcome to NCE and congratulations on your new MR. i saw a brand new GG MR last week in Marina. if it was you, i was behind you in my m3.

i think your first buy should definately be a radar detector, then get the tbe and flash.....:D

Congrats on the Car and welcome to the boards! Coming from "old school muscle cars" you'll probably miss the soundtrack as I did, but the EVO more than redeems itself in the driving experience. Hope to see you at the meet!

welcome to NCE. congrats on the car. You won't be dissapointed by owning an evo. a turbo back or cat back should be good for first mod. then ofcourse a flash.

Dammit, now there are two graphite grey MRs in Salinas. Did you pick it up from My mitsubishi? Anyways, good luck with the car and hope to see you around town, twin.
