Im thinking about getting the 3071 turbo kit. I was wondering what kind of numbers people are getting.

Psst - Wilson. The guy wants to see dyno numbers, not just an ATP roll call. ;)

Isn't the spool up supposed to be a tad disapointing on that kit? Same with the numbers?

I am asking because I haven't seen alot of data on these kits, just alot of people saying they didn't live up to the hype.

A little laggy is what the good doctor told me. The 3071 was recommended to me over the 3076 if you only plan on running pump, but I dunno about waiting 4.1K RPM for decent spool. I'm still not sold on it, especially at $3k+, and the things I've been hearing about Buschur's 20G IX make the price and performance of the 3071 kit even less appealing.

There's something wrong with 4100 rpm for full boost  Thats right where my 3076 hits 24 psi... 8)

We used one on one of our cars in the past (the Time Attack EVO is using the ATP 35/40R). Give us a call if you'd like. We also have an almost new ATP 3071 kit here (rebuilt turbo, all new DP and hardware).

Im also very interested in this kit....but i never heard any technical information on it besides advertisement that it is a direct bolt on....i kind of doubt it but who knows...anyone seen a factory stock evo 08 with bolt on 3071 turbo kit power increase?

The 3071 should be worth about ~325whp on 91 octane on our dyno, but these larger turbos are really nearing the realm of methanol / race gas turbos (where the advantages of this size truly come alive). There really isn't a comparison to the Buschur 20G, which employs a much smaller compressor and turbine wheel. I may be wrong, but I think the 3071 has at least 10lbs/min of airflow on the TD05R-20G wheel. I would imagine ~360-370whp capable on race gas. Anymore, you'll probably have to look at the GT3076 with it's 61lbs wheel.

That said, we will have some prototype 20G's coming in in the next few weeks. I can't say much about them at this time, but they will be in the $800 range for anyone interested in testing them out (local customers only please). Please drop me an e-mail if you're interested.

On another note we just made 300whp with the EVO IX turbo, and can make ~310whp on a 272/uncatted car on 91 octane. I would consider this turbo if you're looking for a good midrange turbo. the 3071 would be great for more top end power. :)

Thanks,

Gary
