Kinda pricey, though. I'd recommend Gruppe-S for HKS cams... $275 apiece for 272s, the last time I looked.

I still have to decide when to get cams.... but if I get HKS, I'll buy from Gruppe-S unless I can find a better deal (LancerShop is tops in my opinion). Alternatively, I would like the WORKS 269 since I can use the stock cam gears... and most of my parts are from their shop.

You can use stock gears with HKS cams as well.

But I guess it's better to have them so you can move the powerband... the same probably applies to the WORKS 269s. I've got to check our your Evo to see how it idles with the 272s. What kind of cam gears are you running?

we have some 272s prototype cams that is currently being tested on Andy's shop evo. So far the results have been pretty promising. Price will be very affordable. PM me if there's any interests :)

Actually my idle was pretty good at 0/0. It wasn't until I went to -1/+1 that my idle went to the crapper. I've smoothed a bunch of that out with tuning although there is no mistaking that my car has cams.

Hmm... when the time comes for the CB340 package, I wonder if I should just go with the WORKS 269s, then? I guess I still need to check out your idle before I make a final decision. Got plenty of time... still need the CB303 tuning w/o cams first to see how the car feels. Maybe I won't even need cams. :)

another alternative... this is where i bought my cams... they sent me them pretty darn quick once they were in stock. Looks like they have HKS, Buddy Club, and Works... good prices on the HKS though at $269 a cam...

Oooh thanks for reminding me! I saw that price and forgot. The one advantage that LancerShop has over myevostore, Gruppe-S, and XP is that it's out of California, so there isn't any tax. Tax on cams and gears would sure add up. And they don't ream you on shipping either, which is nice.

The best I can get is $560 shipped for HKS 272s... PM me if you're interested. So myevostore may be a better deal if shipping is cheap enough.
