I'm starting this thread so we can trade notes on what Evo-related supplies you can get and for how much, locally. Just finished my break-in period (1k miles) so I'm gonna change the oil before doing auto-x Sunday. I went out and got the supplies yesterday:

Capitol Mitsubishi (San Jose):
- Oil filter (MZ690116): $8.00; buy 3, get the 4th free
- Engine oil pan gasket (MD050317): $1.86
- Mobil1 10W30: $4.50 x 6 quarts = $27.00

That seems on the high side; anyone know of a local Mitsu dealer that's cheaper?

Update: I checked the price on Mobil1 10W30 at a couple other places:
- Comet Auto Supply (Hayward): $6.49 per quart
- Pep Boys (Sunnyvale): $4.99 per quart

So it looks like Capitol gave me a reasonable price on the oil at least.

- Tam

Damn how I hate Capitol Mitsubishi. But they sold me my Evo shift knob fo 75$ out the door. The cheapest I've seen it is on Mitsubishiparts.net for 85$ plus shipping.

Not sure if you guys get coupons from your local mitsu service dealership but I get them all the time.

I get my oil filters with the coupon
5 for $25

and I get my oil from Costco
$23 bux for 6 quarts!

For washers... err I re-use them from my Honda.

Have you guys bought a new stubby antenna yet? I met a guy at the Works dyno day (don't remember his name) that put an S2000 antenna on his Evo and said it was only 15$ at the Honda dealership. Sounds like a better deal than buying one online.

Yah... I have an s2k antenna and got it for 15 bux but that was with someone I know's employee discount from the Honda dealership.

I think I paid a bit over $20 for my S2k antenna, at the Honda at the Capitol Expwy auto mall. Probably could've gotten a better price elsewhere but I wasn't about to scouring every Honda dealership and online to save a couple dollars.

I went to Capitol Honda and they told me 34$ plus tax. Screw that. MachEvo.com has it for like 19$ plus shipping which is still cheaper.

Not trying to be honda hater but why a honda part? Even if it's a antenna.

Is it the looks or price? Enlighten me here.

One of the popular options for a "stubby antenna" replacement is to use the antenna from an S2000. Other alternatives include the antenna from a BMW/Cooper Mini, and the "shorty" antenna by Perrin. Compared to the stock antenna, the shorter antenna is more aerodynamic and--more importantly--doesn't poke against the CF wing when you open the trunk.

I have to say that my stocker don't touch my spoiler, but each car is prob. placed differently. Still sounds ricey, but to each is their own. Who knows?

Is not that we are using "Honda" parts. Those antennas(I believe) are made by one company and they supply those antenna to alot of different car manufacturers. If you notice that they all fit the same  . So which ever one is cheaper, go for it. Example: the Perrin stubby antenna looks just like the S2K. the only difference is that the Perrin has a sticker that say "Perrin" around the antenna. so if you take that sticker off, how would you know what's what?

My previous cars didn't have external antennae so I found the long springy thing on my Evo kinda annoying. :?

Where to buy Redline products on a weekend when performance shops are closed: Winchester Auto Parts (http://winchesterauto.com) with several locations in Northern California. Prices are reasonable; paid $7.95 for 75W90 gear oil; MT90 priced the same, as was the bottle of Water Wetter.
