Not like any of us will miss it, but the Pontiac GTO is no longer.

aww man. It was not a bad car. but anyway good thing they cancelled, becuase in the near future it was going to face lots of challenges, as in performance, Price, product etc etc. For example: Evos, Sti, Skyline, 450z, charger, vette, etc. So good riddens. :D

Too bad for the GTO fanatics. Maybe they'll go over to the Challenger since a lotta American Company's are going retro.

Bit of a shame...I actually love the way the car looks. Can't really speak on the handling of the car...but man does it have some power.

they should have sold it for what it was, a holden, not yet-another-rebadged-gm-product...

The only thing I really didn't like about the car is that the steering ratio was really s l o w. The power was great and the braking seemed to be up to par and the interior was top notch for a re-badged american car. It's a pitty that Pontiac/Holden didn't make a better effort on more destinctive styling cues for 04. I think they lost a lot of sales because it didn't really look like anything special. For 05 with the LS2, the dual exh tips, nicer looking hood, available 18" wheels & the optional factory body kit made the car look a lot better. The problem was it was just too late  I'll probably own one 1 day after the Evo is paid off. I do like the car. With this being a failure it probably kills any chance of Holden sending the Holden Ute SS/HSV Maloo R8 rebadged as a El Camino  I heard rumors that they were considering that. I own a 85 El Camino and love them.

I wish they would've put this front end on our GTO. I think it looks cleaner.

That's great news! I had heard rumors about this a while ago but thought they were just that. With Bob Lutz making this statement it looks like there's some hope.
