its not a switch that you can just turn off/on,its programmed in the ecu to coincide with everything when the car is running.only a flash or a piggyback can determine a cut off point.

The best way is to turn the key counter clockwise and it will shut the gas off :-P

So i was driving up highway 152 and i drove over an ordinary hump in the road and my car just shut off. the engine will turn over but nothing after that. im pretty sure nothing is wrong with the transmission. a couple people including the tow truck driver thought the bump in the road might have triggered the fuel cut off switch or something of that nature. im having the car towed to Capital Mitsubishi tomorrow. Cant wait to deal with those A$$holes. Any ideas of what might have happened?

did it throw up a cel?where in 152 did you hit a bump?do you have any aftermarket cams?it could have been the cam sensor also since ive had that happen to me before.but i doubt it to be fuel being cut off or shutdown.

Sounds like maybe the O2 sensor may have been triggered... at least thats all that I can think of... Might be that there could be a problem with it.... another could be that u might have mis installed a mod if u installed any

no it didnt throw a cel and i dont have cams. but i do have a test pipe that make the wires on the o2 sensor rub against part of the car underneath. so maybe it caused a short??
