Hi guys,
I finally can log in, yay!!
Man I have always loved the EVO...well ever since it came out in the US :D
I love the look and power of it.
Have been a member of evolutionm.net for a while, not that long but long enough and thanks to them I want an EVO.....that's right I dont own one yet :(
I'm trying to find a deal on the EVO, man the South Coast Mitsu gave me a deal that I cant resist $27988.00 plus tax etc for an Evo IX GSR

my question is that do you guys know if anyone cna beat it or match it here?

I'm located in Sacramento/Elk Grove

oh p.s. i always see a evo that's red with a CF hood by the elk grove sherrif station by bond road. that evo is so dam nice!!

what i notice is that everyone is friendly, the way it should be :D

now to just have an evo and i'll be a perfect match here, kinda feel outta place right now since i have a .......accord..... :(

welcome!!, i hope you can find a dealer here who can sell you the car for the same price as in SCM, i seriously doubt it though, i got mine down south for $28,000 before tax lic and processing fees so thats a hell of a deal, oh and i got a GG9 too, you cant lose by getting your car there plus the drive back would already constitute half of your break in :lol:

yeah elk grove cops are a holes man and the downside is that i live like 5 minutes away from them :(

oh mtsevovii, man at least your does better gas mileage then mine. mine averages to 20 miles per gallon. might as well have a EVO with power that does low miles per gallon then a honda that has no power that does crap miles per gallon

Hey guys, sorry to bring this back from sort of the dead but a few other questions. I didnt want to make another thread about it cuz more load and stuff on the servers.

OK so the question is, is the SSL the better package or the GSR?
Yes the SSL has sun, stereo and leather but it also has the HID package <---- I want that!! I mean the other options are not bad but my main reason for the SSL is the HID package. I asked a few dealerships and they said that the HID package only comes in the SSL. Leather and sunroof isnt bad at all, i have this currently on my honda so I dont mind plus I use the sun all the time in summer. The leather sometimes is annoying with the heating and cooling of the weather BUT man is it easy to clean if I spill anything.
The stereo would be nice I guess because it's louder then the stock

so what do you guys think?
The SSL is about 2 grand more then the GSR, is it worth that 2 grand?

I have an SSL and love it, the sound system is alright, but the HID's were a big factor for me, since i hate aftermarket kits (reliability). and the leather is actually pretty nice, have had lots of compliments.

I wanted the HIDs and i mean bad, but i couldnt justify spending the extra dough for it, plus i didnt need the sunroof or the sound package, i personally dont listen to a lot of music...lolz call me old but i perfer talk radio 680, 810, 860 hahahaha my wife calls me grandpa and im only 24 :oops:

xxx4reggie: here is my review for the SSL package because this was a huge factor in purchasing my car. and went through the same back and forth issue your going through :x so here is a full review on it... maybe this should get sticked anyways here it goes.

SSL review

Headlights: I have owned a WRX, and an E36 M3. The WRX recieved JDM projectors, a nice output (no HID kit). the E36 M3 recieved ZKW euro glass projectors with a 6k HID kit it worked well, a little better then the wrx. Except everyonce in awhile the ballast would not fire or it would go out on me when it was on, not the safest lol. both cars had fogs but were literally useless. The SSL headlights are awesome. the stock 4100k bulbs look blueish so they have the cool HID look, without the problem of being too blue. the white light the OEM mitsu HID's put out is clearly visible in dim lighting conditions (dusk) where 6k and up kits start to become not so visible. The fogs are awesome, many say they do not use them. I do. I live in Pt. Reyes and in Monterey for school (VERY FOGGY, and alot of deer in pt reyes) the HID's do a good job of lighting up the road but the fogs just add even more light in the front of the bumper to about 25-30ft in front. the highs on all 8's and 9's are awesome!

Leather seats: The leather is a nice touch in my opinion. the all black Recaros look beautiful. they have a perforated leather center and full leather on the bolsters. although the leather on the doors looks a little cheesy it is still decent looking. the leather is decent, not as great as the OEM leather in say BMWs, Audis, Mercedes etc. but still a nice feel. Unless its a hot day then you should hope that you are not wearing shorts ;)

Sound System: the OEM infinity sound system is not all that bad. i had a very nice sound system in my bimmer (memphis 12in sub, seperates alpine 4 channel and an alpine mono plus a bunch more) and it sounded great. But i think the infinity sound system is decent, and coming from what i had before that is saying something. for instince all i did was replace the factory head unit with a aftermarket alpine CDA 9855. i only did this so i could play Mp3 Cd's as the OEM unit will not play them, and skips a bit with normal CD's. the only draw back is that when upgrading the HU you must buy a a 6 pin DV cable which is about 30 dollars and another 15 dollar harness.

Sunroof: Nothing special, the sunroof controller looks a bit cheap like an integra or honda. But the sunroof does not slide over the roof. it actually retracts inside the roof which is nice. also it has a one push auto back, close and tilt for quick on the fly adjustment. btw, its nice having a sunroof for those sunny days 8)

all in all, i believe there is a wieght increase, but i know my car is not going to see the track every weekend so the added weight for a little bit of class does not bug me. i would reccomend it if you have the chance to do it. in the end it will also give you a little more value to you car when it comes time to sell...

The lowbeams are HID's, and the foglights are halogen, altough many get upgrade kits for the fogs. the cutoff is perfect on the head lights with absolutely no hot spots.
