Anyone know of a local place (bay area, I am in San Jose), other than Wheel Techniques, where I could get the stock wheels powder coated??

I went by Wheel Techniques, and they gave me a quote of around $500 for all 4, which seems like on the steep side. Looking for some other places that do good work to get a quote from.

Thanks!

drop them off in SF or tell me what color you want, I will give you those and you can give me yours as core as long as they are not scratched or dented. I can get those done for 380.00.

Your wheels are going to break in half and you are going to get into an accident.

I had powdercoated wheels on a mustang for over four years and they never cracked. Must be lucky. 8)

I live in San Luis Obispo, quite a drive from San Jose/ San Francisco. Got them done at Central Coast Powdercoating.

Some place in SSF, I don't even remember the name of the shop. Near Costco.

I had some wheels powder coated at Maas Tech Coat in Hayward about 3 or 4 years ago. It was $50 a wheel at that time.

I've had amazing quality finished from Professional Finishing in Richmond- their prices for other industrial powdercoatings were also 1/2 to 1/3 of most quotes I got.

Do not go to wheel techniques.

A shop scratched one of the SSR GT-7s I had on my M3. They sent it to wheel techniques to be fixed.

I couldn't believe how bad the quality of work they did was. Totally inexcusable, I could have done better with a spray can and a do-rag.

The "powder coat" was dripping, had finger prints, scratches, and didn't even come close to matching the original finish. They painted over the original polished lip. The clear coat had hair and dirt in it, and was uneven.

I've never seen such a poor job, and I will never use them again. The shop ended up splitting the cost of a new wheel with me. :(

I found like 4 places near me but none of them answered when I called yesterday. I was hoping that someone here had some good scoop to pass along so I know it will get done right and at a good price.
