My EVO IX put down 302whp/300tq today @ Vishnu with an Xflash and 3" catless TBE. No EBC or MBC. Just running off the stock boost control solenoid.

On Monday we made 310whp, but the weather was colder that day due to the rain. Oh, btw these runs were made on 91 octane. The car feels VERY strong on the street. Pulls hard in every gear. Boost is at 22psi tapering down to 19psi up top. 11:1 AFR. Gonna post the dyno chart up later when its scanned in. :lol: I am VERY happy with the car and Shiv's tuning. He said on 100octane I'll probably be in the 330-340whp range.

Very nice, capable of low 12's with a couple mods. The 9's are no joke.

Yeah seriously. Shiv was even surprised that the car was that strong. I baselined at 263whp before the Xflash. Everything else is stock besides the exhaust. Stock I/C, fuel system, everything. Car pulls HARD all the way to 8K RPM's.

I wouldn't doubt it. The IX's definately respond well to mods and tuning.

According to shiv's post here (http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=189585) just throwing on a TBE doesnt gain much, if any. Sounds like with the IX you really need a flash or at least an MBC/AFC combo to really get anything out of an IX with a TBE.

Well I baselined at 263whp with the catless TBE and no tuning. The flash really woke the car up though after that. I was also running pig rich before the tune as well.

According to shiv's post here (http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=189585) just throwing on a TBE doesnt gain much, if any. Sounds like with the IX you really need a flash or at least an MBC/AFC combo to really get anything out of an IX with a TBE.

And it reads very close to the Full Function and Gruppe-s mustang dynos, maybe even a tad lower.

btw, i have heard that it is in part the bigger turbo on the 9 is part of the difference. the MIVEC head allows for your power to kick in about 1k rpms earlier.

302whp lol. Some people have white rabbit, cams, TBE, intake etc and still barely make up to 300whp. Most likely cars with White Rabbits are around 280whp, and some people with stock turbos are 300whp, lol. Evo IX turbo is a big++++ for another mod. Expecially, since I saw one side by side by the 03 Evo 8 turbo, Evo IX turbo was huge. 8) 8)



PS: I am still choking from that god damn pollen in the air. :lol: :lol:

Yea, I know with the WR people go beyond 280whp, but I also know people hit over 280whp with the stock turbo. Also, lots of people with WR and couple of other mods are around 280whp. But if you can get 300hp with the Evo IX turbo, TBE and Tuned, hmmmm :wink: :wink: . Not a bad choice for an upgrade.

if you can make 300whp on a dyno dynamics or a Mustang dyno with a EVO 8, IX turbo, TBE and a 91 octane normal tune like Shiv did with that evo 9... I will give you $100.

:lol: :lol: you and your crazy ass bets. I know I am not goin to pull 300whp with the just the IX turbo. I also know, not only the turbo matters. I am not sure about SJCORUJA's full mod list, but he pulled 35+whp over stock with the IX turbo, on the Mustang Dyno. Thats the point I am trying to get across. I was considering getting the WR, but with the Evo IX in and proving more potential, I am having 2nd thoughts. Another thing that also made me question my decision was when you (earlyapex) posted your dyno charts showing 300whp with the stock turbo.
So should I spend money on WR or Evo IX turbo, as SJCORUJA allready proved what it does to 03s.

I aggree to, i beleve alot of it has to do with the turbo, although the MIVEC head and intake cam probably help, but they can't be as much as a power getter as the turbo. although, i am sure the MIVEC components do add a good amount of power and give the motor a broad broad power band...

I'm waiting on Shiv to post them or email them to me. He didn't have a printer hooked up to his computer at the dyno. Hopefully by Monday we'll have the chart up.

Interesting, I've been noticing that Shiv tunes the IX's AFR curves a bit different than the 8's.

Much leaner at peak torque and much richer after 6800rpm.
