Alright guys. Here it is. Found an event for the 21st of May (friday). I figured it's about a month and couple weeks away so you guys have plenty of time to think about this event. This event is hosted by http://www.trackmasters-racing.com/ and it's the same HPDE events that others are hosting. This is your chance to get out and to find out what our Evo's are really like at the track.

Membership is free but will change sometime in June. If you sign up after June, a membership fee will be required then. Check out the link I provided as I already signed up for this event and hopefully we can get a group of NorCalEvos heading out to Thunderhill.

From trackmasters website
Event Specifics:

3 Run Groups (A=Advanced, B=Intermediate, C=Novice)
Unique passing rules for each run group
Up to 2.5 hours of 'seat time' throughout the day!
Approximately 20 cars 'on track' per session!
Coffee, pastries, lunch, and drinks are provided
TrackMasters Racing T-Shirts will be distributed at the event (new members only)
All for $210! (215 for paypal)

Disclaimer:
I by no means promoting or affiliated with trackmasters regarding this event but would like to share interest with other NorCalEvo enthusiasts. Pls. read all rules before signing up on an HPDE event.

Mods... feel free if this thread needs to be a sticky. Otherwise, I'll keep on bumping it up until the day of the event.

Hey.. how's it going ogvw! I've talked to you before on evom regarding some fittings for the oil pressure gauge install. Never had a chance to stop by your shop at sears point so I went with a different choice of gauges instead.

What group are you going to be on at Thunderhill?

I'm planning to have a caravan going up there. If anyone is interested on a caravan, let me know so we can setup a meet point in between.

it's me!
just picked up my car a couple of weeks ago.
lot of fun. had an audi tt roadster with quite a bit of work into it
and the evo is at least as quick and handles way better right
out of the box. awesome car.

don't know if i'll make the t-hill event on the 21st, but i'll be
there on the 3rd with the volvo club and i'm talking to doug at trackmasters about a spot at laguna on the 15th.

hoping to get a bit of track time to get used to the car.

do they have some classes for the newbies?

do they have some classes for the newbies?

yes... for 1st timers, they will be in the novice group. There's a drivers meeting before they let you go out on the track to learn the basic rules specially safety. Each HPDE(High Performance Driving Education) event I've been to always had instructors available and you can ride with them for a few laps to learn the lines.. etc. This is a great way to learn your car and your driving skills on a safe controlled environment. Do it and you won't be dissapointed!

Hi, I am new to the forums. I just bought my BBY Evo a week ago and only have 400 miles on the car  . I have not had a chance to really experience the car yet, but I would love to join you at Thunderhill. I just need to get in the extra break in miles.

Hello garrick!! Welcome to the boards. You're not that far behind the break in period. I tracked my Evo when it had 3k miles on the odo and now, I'm going back to test my goodies. I hope to see more Evos to join in at this event and i still havent' gotten any reponse if anyone wanna caravan going up. Regardless, I will set up a meeting point hopefully next week. :D

I'm guessing that I will have about 1500 miles on the car by the 21st. Do you think that would be too soon to track the car? I going to head out there to watch even if I am unable to track the car. I'm just don't want to hurt the engine. How did you like working with Vishnu DB8GSR?

Per the Evo manual, break-in period is 600 miles. If you do decide to run, I'd run her with fresh oil.

I love every single hp that the x-flash has given me especially with Shivs tuning expertise!

Is there anyone from the bay area or sac area that are up for a caravan? I need to know so we can set something up as a meet point before heading out to Thunderhill. I was thinking of meeting at the Nut Tree in Vacaville for the Bay area folks since HWY 505 will be just right there and then hit HWY 5 all the way to Thunderhill. Let me know who's interested! :D
