I'm also going to be at the SFR-SCCA Sacramento Cup Practice event in Stockton tomorrow: http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/Sacramento/Cup2004practice.htm

The best things about the Sacramento chapter's events are:
- No SCCA membership required;
- Lower $25 entry fee ($35 for non-members);
- 4 runs;
- $1 fun runs!

I'll be running in STU tomorrow so I can run in the morning, so I can watch/coach two first-timers from the office who are facing off in our own private little "H Stock duel" that afternoon--Corolla vs. Elantra, whoooo! :D

yeah, but it's still stockton, which you will find out what that means. :(

I hate that place, and only go there if I need the points

It's a separate series, so the points don't count towards the Bay Area SFR-SCCA Championship Series, no?

Anyway I guess I'll find out... As it is, Stockton is the same distance from me as Marina, so why not...

My times were all remarkably close (53.2 dirty, 53.1 dirty, 53.4 clean, 53.2 clean) though I really smoothed things out by my fourth run.

There's nothing going on in Atwater this weekend. Or at least, nothing autocross-related. Hmm. Yeah, as I said, there's nothing going on in Atwater this weekend. :lol:

In Tam's defense, it was hard to get a clean run on that course. Those slaloms were my downfall.

You and I kept hitting the same cone in the second slalom.

With my new alignment, I could hold it WOT through all but the last cone of the 3rd slalom.

Definately a fun course!!

xchoirboy.... so when are we going to see you out there?

I'm fairly happy with how I did. But obviously there's room for improvement; most significantly:
- I kept going too deep on the left turn after the 2nd slalom; I picked up a couple cones there on my 1st and 2nd runs.
- I was late (turning for each cone later that I should have) on the slaloms, especially the 3rd. Though I may have looked pretty smooth through them (e.g. on my last run), that was because I was compensating (for being late) by feathering the throttle and going slower--instead of going WOT like I should have been able to.

Hey Tam is the corse at marina usualy the same? This saturday is gonna be my first time autoXing.

No, the course is different each time and I've seen a wide variety of courses there. The surface at Marina is concrete with just a bit of blown sand, quite grippy. Almost all cars have a tendency to understeer there. But that also means it's difficult to spin out (unlike Oakland or Golden Gate Fields which have a lot of loose gravel; I'll have a video of my big spin from yesterday posted soon ;)).

FYI, the next SCCA autocross at Marina is Saturday, June 19th--the next Saturday after this one.

As for myself, this Saturday and Sunday I'll be running the American Auto-x Series (http://www.americanauto-x.com/) (AAS) in Atwater. Can't wait to try out the new tires!
