OK, seems like there is some interest in tracking the HP numbers on the boards. I know we had a poll before about 300whp and how much more people wanted, but thought it would be cool to track current HP now with mods.

This WILL NOT be a pissing contest or fights about dynos, tuning, etc. I am only looking to have a thread (maybe sticky) that can keep track of the power everyone is putting out. I think it may be useful for people to have one place to look for estimates on power based on mods. Also, a little FRIENDLY comparison can be inspiring to keep on modding! LOL :)

I will keep the first post updated with the list. For now, let's only do 275whp or over and only on 91 octane. That should make this a decent comparison of safe, reliable mods/tunes of which many are daily drivers. If there really is enough (or any) interest, I can keep track of 100 octane and up.

Even better info to add (if known) would also be AFR (up top and mid range) and also peak timing if possible.

I think both those items are very good information for 91 octane tunes.

Also, either linking, attaching or posting inline the actual dyno graphs so people can see the power curves would be great too.

I know marshell made a thread about his car build up that could only be added to by him..

i vote for mivec equiped cars to be excluded from this...doesn't seem fair to have to spend thousands of dollars & an assload of work to achieve these #'s when $1,000+mivec can get you here :roll:

LOL, I think if the model is clearly shown on the line item it's fine. Everyone knows the IX's make more power with less mods.

Please tell me that is on race gas. 12.5 AFR up top. :shock:

Also, what turbo are you running that doesn't make peak trq till 4200 rpm?

Guess this means this dyno reads pretty darn high.

91/100 mix, stock turbo. My first run was actually around 280HP/246TQ (i suspected a boost leak which there was) so with an adjustment, it went up to 341HP/340TQ.

Since 100 octane is now being considered... here's one with meth (91+meth = ~100 octane).

The boost controller was set to 74 (about 23 psi) and gain to 14.

well mat you can post me up if you like but I'm getting my new turbo installed and dynoed with in the next month or so, so you'll have to update it soon.

91oct 280hp I forget the torque don't have a dyno sheet from shiv but I'm not the only one I run 24-23psi afr around 12 something
100oct I hit 320hp and again shiv's printer was not working and I havn't emailed him for my sheet

just installed the smart and I have the turbo in my trunk waiting for the install kit to arive soo I'll keep you posted

@24 PSI, on 100 octane, with a GT35R and almost ZERO timing done to it(another shop blew the motor, so it's weak and mike didn't want to push it).

Tuned to pretty much 11.0 A/F throughout the entire powerband(dips into 10's in the upper rpms)

what gear do you guys dyno in? there is about a 25 tq difference at 3500 rpm which tapers off about even at 4000 rpm between 3rd and 4th gears do to different spool characteristics.

I think most do on the evo, although I believe EIP dynos in 4th.

Which gear is showing 25wtq difference to you Andy? Less in 4th?

No, just a crappy operator i would assume.. mustang dynos can be fudged really easy.. notice on this one they put the cars weight at 3400lbs.. which is why you have an inflated # i bet. could be other settings as well liek the ramp up rate.

IX's with exhaust, tune and MBC were putting down 300...Check this thread and a 9 with race gas exhaust and tune put down 332HP...Wouldnt that be more if the dyno read high?...

That mustang dyno reads VERY high if you are doing over 300/300 with no tune and no cams. Your car would do about 250-260 or so on gruppe-s mustang dyno.

No, just a crappy operator i would assume.. mustang dynos can be fudged really easy.. notice on this one they put the cars weight at 3400lbs.. which is why you have an inflated # i bet. could be other settings as well liek the ramp up rate.


Gruppe-s mustang dyno is set to 3400 as well.

This was originally supposed to be NorCal 275 and over on a stock(ish) 16g - Evo VIII or IX, and no meth/alc/H20 etc. It really got out of control with a whole bunch of other info.

For now, if you are all of the above, PM me or post up and I will add you to the list and update it. In the future I may either add on the more extreme numbers with unlimited mods, or start a different list.

I got back from my dyno tune with Shiv today. It was rediculously hot out today... i think i made something like 292awhp with a TBE and drop in filter at 23psi... This was on a IX. I baselined at 253awhp on a Dyno Dynamics dyno... Shiv is gonna post up the dyno sheets on Evom.net on monday and I'll post them up over here so you guys can take a look. Do you guys think that the heat really affected the numbers that much? It was a rather small room that he kept half closed probally because he was trying to keep it was quiet as possible.

yes heat really affected my numbers today...i dynoed in april/may time frame when it was cooler and dynoed @ 318 and yesterday at EIP dyno day i pumped out only 302...heat i believe was a really big factor...and possible the clutch lol

I only added 16hp and 10tq from my vishnu dyno tune last year with these changes:
- changed intake from HKS RS to Stock with K&N
- changed exhaust from HKS to Helix
- Upgraded Xede to SMART
- HP Freaks LICP
- Mitsu 10.5 Hotside
- SS Chrome O2 housing

The rest of my mods are in my sig..

it was pretty cool... that day.... I actually don't know my baseline b/c at first my car had a problem w/ not being able to build boost (bad vacuum line leading into bov.) *Once the problem was fixed the following morning Shiv just loaded an off the shelf map in to the car.... I also have an exhaust cam and cam gear in the car which probably made a slight difference

My VIII had cams, cam gears, i/c piping, i/c, fuel pump, filter, tbe w/ hfc, clutch and fly wheel this one only has an 1/8 of what that car had and makes more power.... VIII's are a great car and wouldn't have gotten my MR if I didn't lose my VIII....

21psi on 91 and 25psi on 100

max was 373/285 and 340/260

Here is mine on 91: 402whp, 375wtq. Dynojet at 20psi max boost. AFRs, as you can see are at about 11.0:1. Super safe tune for hammering around town without worries. The other graph is on race gas and higher boost.

The Ohlin's are just fantastic. Friends with JICs and BuddyClubs consistently say that these revalved Ohlin's ride better, even though I went with a really stiff spring rate: 550f/650r. I'll get this thing to a track with curves soon enough.

Ok cool...we're getting warmer here. So, assuming it was filled up when the gas light went on (2 gallons of 91 in the tank)...and assuming that it was then filled up completely (to 14 gallons)....that puts us at about 94 octane.

292 on pure 91 and 292 on a mix with 100 octane are two very different things. Props to hitting that number without cams even on a mix, but not a pure 91 street tune which is what I've been after with this thread.

Hey man, simma down. We aren't trying to hate, just trying to get the facts. 292whp on the EIp dyno without cams and on cali pump isnt believable, if he is throwing in some 100octane into the mix then that explains the numbers. He could be between 93 and 95 octane IMO.

i was there last saturday at EIPs wen "DIK" had his evo tuned to 292 hp with no cams..base was 220hp and paul couldnt understand where the extra 20 hp came from..a freak evo!!!.. juss waht graphitemr said mild mods and 99 degrees in the shop... all we can say that paul from EIP Racing is a great tuner and can make it work

I agree paul is a great tuner but 91 oct on mild mods in an 8 doing 292 awhp is just crazy. im not saying its not possible but improbable unless it was done with 100 oct or a mix.

unfortunately most of us do not attend the san jose wed meets. CAan someone please get more info for us.

so all the disagreeing is over my silly 8 yes i tuned it with 3.5 gallons of 100 octane and the rest 91 but 20 hp from that little bit of* real octane is unreal. so in that case i am going to re-dyno my car on 91 and we will all see what octane really gets you. maybe you guys are right but maybe not. hopefully i just got a freak motor its not unheard of.

I had 295/255 on Gruppe-S dyno back in March/April, ecutek by Mike.* Then two weeks ago I was tuned at Full Function by Shiv with the only change being that I added the Xede,* Shiv asked me if he could do a baseline, the car made 275whp on the ecutek tune, back to back.* When Shiv retuned it with the Xede he made 293/267 on 21psi, I am itching to see if I would break the 300whp mark on the Gruppe-S dyno with a basic Vishnu Stage 1++.* That would be sweet if the 20whp diffrence from the FF dyno transfered to the Gruppe-S dyno, but I highly doubt it, a guy can dream though.:)

:D Alot of Cosworth parts in the motor and everything is balanced and blueprinted. As far as boltons go, full catless TBE, ECUTEK reflash, and an intake. That's it. Still running stock turbo manifold and 02 housing. Still 2.0L displacement, but should be able to rev higher than an S2K. ;)

Yeah, I was told before that 7500rpm is really when the stock turbo starts to run out of breath. No point revving past its efficiency range. That's why I'm going to install a real turbo later on to take advantage of the built motor's potential. :D

Yes I am. I lived in Berkeley and Oakland for six years, went to Cal, and Shiv tuned my car in Pleasanton three times in the past couple of years. So I'm close to qualifying, if there is such a thing.

I don't have any whp/wtq numbers for road racing, but for drag racing we ran 30.6 psi boost (peak and hold function of Zeitronix told me so) with C16 fuel. That was 570whp and 504wtq. That's what got us the 11.0 at 128.

I can update the first list if anyone wants to PM me updates/additions. I got a little lost with all the extra info, so please let's keep it to the following criteria for now:

NorCal only
ONLY pure 91 octane
No meth/water/NOS etc
Stock Evo turbo or minor variations (TME, IX turbo, etc)
Safe/reliable street/track tunes - please list AFRs, boost, peak timing, etc

if u are going to partake in enforcing this endeavor, i'd suggest you have folks post their dyno sheets at a minimum...AND also post avg hp/tq/etc. ... anyone can make peak numbers, but the overall numbers might be shitty still...
