23.81 psi is prety high for 91. Is that what this tune is on? Must have been prety hot at 2 oclock.

paul used ecutek on his mustang dyno...yeah it was hot...

what did paul say was most responsible for your gains from previous sessions? reggie you need to get your car dynoed at gs. i think we will all be shocked.

yeah i want to dyno @ gruppe-s and to tell you the truth i think it is the combo of all the parts...nothing really seemed to just sky rocket the numbers...but imo its pauls tuning...gs seem to play safe or holds back while paul goes for it all...sj's (matt) car dynoed at gs @ 298, the same car dynoed @ eip @ 278 and paul tuned into the 290's...so i would say its the tuner...nothing against gruppe-s but the numbers don't lie...i even saw the sheets...right now sj's car is is capable of doing 320's plus....but paul spent almost 4 hours to get it where it is now...he's gonna try to use my map's to see if he can push sj's car to its full potential....

sj's (matt) car dynoed at gs @ 298, the same car dynoed @ eip @ 278 and paul tuned into the 290's

See told ya the EIP dyno reads lower.

Has anybody done a straight comparison without Paul touching it afterwards?

Going to dyno my car soon on ECUflash. for me to go back and forth on those dynos wouldn't be too hard. maybe can do it this week.

278 was before paul tuned it...this is when sj's had almost 300 at gruppe-s

That is also pretty consistent with what stormtrooper told me about his results back and forth between gs and eip. his car was not tuned by paul or mike, he was running a works reflash. The only difference was the dyno, and it was only a week or so apart from one another.

your pushing the car a liitle too much for straight 91...you should mix ATLEAST 1 gallon of 100 per tankful 'cause sooner or later...KABOOM

Hey Reggie - great numbers! Sounded like you guys were having fun on Friday. :D

Gotta say though that the tuning at Gruppe-S is rock solid and you can't go wrong at either place. I have always loved the work Mike has done on my ride, and I had just thought it would be cool to let Paul play around with the cam gears and tuning while it is there being hooked up for other things. 8)

I came in with a very solid tune that put down 300 on the GS dyno with no cam gear adjustment and baselined around 278 at EIP I believe. With cam gear tweaking and tuning sounds like Paul got it up in the 290s or so on Friday, but it was a bit lean so we backed it down. It is a work in progress though, so I think we will play around with it later and will post up my results. :)

sj your car has so much potential...the ride is tight with your suspension settings...wat i didn't feel was tq when i rode in it @ le mans but i know you will surpass me soon...yeah believe me when we did our base line dyno with mine it was running lean @ 12.5 but the numbers were impressive in the hp with 299hp from 293hp but down in the tq with 278tq from 297tq. but thats be cause i changed my whole exhuast setup...and ohh yeah i believe that stp octane booster works cause i know i gained an extra 1-2 miles per gallon and even when i was running lean at 12.5 it was no knocking and paul was suprised...so yeah keep it up and i know the evo 300 club with stock turbos even though your running the evo 9 turbo....

12.5 afrs?

STP octane booster?

This is crazy talk!

if you like your valves, stop using that crap.

well using army base gas is not like using shell or 76...you think 91 from a big name company is bad well try using gas from a unknown source and the nearest gas station is almost 40 miles away with heat running up to the 120's during the summer shitty gas won't help my situation any better...living in the middle of the desert sucks bryan and right now im trying anything to boost the quality in my fuel but now that my afr is @ 11.5 i don't think i will have a problem...

ek9_evo9
05-15-2006, 02:03 PM
using army base gas

i can piss in your tank for a bargain price of $3.35......its probably the same quality as military gas

earlyapex
05-15-2006, 02:05 PM
I would invest a 5gal drum of 100octane then and just use that as octane booster. Those canned octane boosters leave NASTY deposits on your valves, etc.

also. IMHO, if it was my car, and I was driving in 100-110F temps I would not be running 11.5afr, 23psi and 91 octane. That is seriously pushing it in those conditions

reglaranang
05-15-2006, 03:34 PM
well the good thing is that i don't race in those conditions if anything bryan wat should i be running when im fighting with over 100f conditions pls school me on knowing my car better...i might have to do that invest in some race gas....

I wouldnt run that much boost in the heat.

Although, your actual AFR might be lower than 11.5 off the dyno. Was this read off the tailpipe? Do you have a cat?

SJCoruja

He has a Helix HFC and I do believe the AFRs are taken at the tailpipe.

SJCorja, thanks for setting the record straight on the GS vs. EIP dyno.

Thanks, but not done yet. I don't think we'll really have an apples to apples until someone can dyno at EIP then drive straight to Gruppe-S. That said, I will try to arrange that soon.

Ok then the AFRS are probably not that bad. Still think the boost is a bit high for 91 though.

I thought 23.5psi was a little high for 91 octane as well, but that's what I'm running too with my tune. AFR is 11.0 But there is not the slightest hint of detonation or knock. I went back and re-dyno'd on a hot day with a heat soaked I/C and straight 91octane and still put down 302whp.

Alot depends on your tune, not just boost level.

everytime i've been on the dyno my a/f was ALWAYS the same from my wideband(in my o2) to the tailpipe wideband :?
