Yup, like the title says, I took my EVO for its first Wednesday Night Drags at Infineon Raceway....I came home satisfied. I ran a best of 13.605 at 101mph. I was launching at around 5500RPM. I got a little clutch slip...I think. I got my 60ft time down to 2.06. Is that good? Or will a new clutch help? Anyhow, there was only ONE other EVO out there. If you (the driver) is reading this Thanks for the launch advise. It helped! Anybody interested in making a run out there? I saw lots of Subarus...I WANT to see lots of EVO's!

thanks.

A 2.0 60' isn't bad, but AWDs have an unwritten standard of 1.X short times. A new clutch would probably get you there, but so would some more practice ;) Overall, the end result looks pretty good. Are you stock?

I'd like to make it out soon and it's not too far from home. Is this every Wednesday? Is it just test-and-tune or grudge/bracket racing?

Nicely done! Drag racing ain't my thing but I'm glad you've found a legitimate venue to do it, rather than on the streets.

Hey thanks for the info EvolvedDSM, it gives me a goal to shoot for. I agree more practice is needed but I really think a clutch replacement is needed as well. As far as mods---only a P2, Exhale AB, and a HKS drop in. I need to complete the exhaust and try again. The other EVO there was running a turbo back exhaust and an intake...the fastest I saw him run was 13.5...What kind of times do you run?

I haven't run since last fall when I was stock. My best times were 13.4s (on a 1.9 60') and was trapping as high as 102 and change. Another reason I want to get out is to see what kind of difference there is with the tracks here vs. the ones I ran in Ohio (700-900ft of elevation). Being closer to sea-level, I'd love to improve upon my time. Granted, I'll probably run 100 octane and 21 PSI this time :)

if you hone your launching skills, and get a better 60' time like a 1.7-1.8 you could easily run a low low 13.

Will a stock clutch hold to hit a 1.7-1.8 60ft? Well anyways, thanks for the info. I am going to try to get out there next week (4-21). there is NO racing on the 28th.

It will get you down to at least a 1.83

The old Searspoint is a sticky track; I bogged reaaly bad last time and only pulled a 2.5 60ft.. Next run launched at 6200 rpm and got a 1.87.
Got to be aggressive, but your clutch will be toast in no time !!!
