Sunday 6/18/06 Bay Area Clubs Meet & Drive 2

What's up guys! This is Eddie from NorCalEvo.net. I'm going to be getting people together for another Sunday drive. Due to the accident of the last rainy drive, it is to be STRESSED that if you are a newbie driver and you are going to plan to come, DRIVE WITHIN YOUR LIMITS!!! Highly recommend anyone who is planning on attending to familiarize yourself with the routes to prevent unnecessary accidents. Take everything into consideration and be warned, if you are not comfortable with the idea of driving a mountain road with a group, do not come! For the drive we will organize it so that the people with the most experience will drive in the front and newbies or people who want to just take a slow pace to enjoy the scenary at the back of the pack. Don't worry about speeding up to keep up because we will pull aside at certain stops on the route for everyone to catch up. Join the drive at your own risk. We are to obey all traffic laws & signs and to keep a good 2-3 car lengths distance between the cars to maximize response time should anything sudden occur. BE SAFE!!!

The meet up spot is the same as last time at the De Anza Starbucks.

The route will be up Highway 9, regroup & take pictures at Vista Point, Skyline 35, regroup & take pictures at the pull out after Page Mill Rd intersection, Highway 84 towards La Honda, Highway 1, Highway 17, 280. End at BJ's Brewery & Restaurant off De Anza Blvd. exit off 280. Have lunch or just say farewell and end the drive.

Driving the posted speed limit is necessary for maximum safety. Make sure you allow spacing between cars so that should any incident (knock on wood) occur we can avoid a multiple-car accident.

This Group Meet & Drive invitation will be posted up on NorCalEvo, S2Ki, My350z, iClub, and iWSTi. But feel free to bring along friends as long as they are aware of their skill level, the route, and the risks involved.

Let’s try our best to minimize all risks so that hopefully there will be no incidents for this Drive. Should you have any questions pm me. I will be updating the Sign Up Sheet weekly every Sunday so that it will reflect the combined signups from all the forums. If this gets too big, we will split up into multiple groups and take off 15 minutes apart from one another. We will determine leaders and sweepers for groups right before we leave.

those are the route i used to carve the canyons when i used to ride my 954RR.. sounds like a canyon run to me, careful there is alot of cops there and bikers..

i dont know if they work that well. wont do any good if the cops behind you right? but is it a good idea for highway 9?

V1. works 360 around the car. its picked up a cops on the freeway more than 2mi's away.

but if the cop doesnt have his detector on, it wont go off. therefore you still need to keep a sharp eye.

not anymore, i used to have 3 bikes..a TLR1000,954RR and a GSXR750 all the same time... just becareful with all the bikes running there, thats when they all are out there on sundays..

well theres a huge newbie ride with like amost 100 riders happening on saturday. so that's why i chose sunday, because there should be no scheduled big ride back to back.

even though that route is for bikers, and im sure you will find more that 3 cops on that route.. and you might run into down riders specially new guys not running with the big saturday group

yah...that is a lot of cars. It should be cool and all...but it may attract attention.

But as mentioned...we aren't going to be doing anything wrong, so we should be ok. But then again we live in CA and I'm sure there are going to be a few cops that may see this as a potential "big street racing bust".

if everyone does show up like they said they would, i would probably suggest splitting into two groups
leaving a few minutes apart n then regrouping on top of 9 since cops are most likely going to be around right around the entrance of 9, rarely do i see them while on skyline

put me down as a maybe...all these police crackdowns are making me think that a meet/drive on the 3f3f debut weekend is a very bad idea.

whether we are doing anything wrong or not...a bunch of imports gathering is just asking for police attention. With cops in cupertino not having much to do on a sunday...i'm sure we will get their full attention for having a "street racing" bust and a ticket quota field day.

nope just four 2 sti a E8 and a E9 , no cops and no casualties except a fallen street biker on 9 and a dead deer on hwy1. Good drive fast pace faster than last time. big props to every body keepin up with me. I tried to keep it sane and keep every body together.

sooooo what the hack happend to all the posters that said they were comming? tran man didn't even show WTF?
ol'well its all good we had a better drive with a small group anyway. we had bikers runnin with us to and cept for the few straight sections we wern't getting passed. we were movin pretty good at times I was in forth all the way on skyline.
all in all it was a beauutifull day/drive there was a huge group of mini's there too but we missed them. one of them tried to race on 1 at the four lanes but I wasn't havvin a mini pass me HELL NAW losts on different bike car and bicycle groups sharing the road and all being very courtious to each other and respectfull

I've found that small groups work better. The 30+ cap group cruises sound cool at 1st but then you realize its a PITA keeping everyone together and organized. Plus it tends to attract more attention...
