**STATUS NOW**

Car is back. New Turbo has been installed (Precision's first snail didn't seal). Having more issues with the factory head. About to do a CLT. He wanted to wait on the forged goodies, and it sounds as though he did some damage to a valve seat (common in the RSX turbo cars). I'll keep you posted. We may be seeing his build sooner than expected. I'll also post a video of his shut down/despool. Sounds like a damned jet plane shutting down. I'll keep you posted.

why do you have the title eclipse and show a rsx type s?

Carlo

edit: haha you changed it while i posted.

i personal think he should have just done an all motor build with the k20.

FYI: That's a 38mm TiAL gate, not a 40.

Who makes that manifold?

Don't let DOHCVTEC see this!

He is die hard NA honda motors. haha.

How well does that turbo spool on that motor?

**UPDATE** and **DIAGNOSIS RESULTS**

No compression, NONE, in cylinder #3. Leak down 100 percent. Nothing came by the valves. Rings don't leak at 100%. So he's got a cute little hole in his cute little 10.5:1 piston. Another reason turbocharging a high compression motor (especially with a GT35R) is a BAD idea without a bottom end.

On the downside, the RSX Type S cylinder walls are specially coated for high revs and don't accept MOST aftermarket pistons. Nick Arias @ Atomic Speedware is sourcing me some pistons and the Scat rods, head gasket, head bolts, head bolts, main studds, and custom solid deck plate are coming soon. So now you'll be witnessing yet another build by us. Sooner than expected but at least you'll see our work.

We try to warn people of the dangers of high compression OEM turbo builds. Unfortunately for this customer, this is a fine example of large turbo ruining a good bottom end. ANY originally equipped OEM car should be built and TUNED before it is ever driven on the street. Stay tuned for more. To answer some of the aforementioned questions...

FYI: That's a 38mm TiAL gate, not a 40.

I know the 38mm is standard and widely used. I've never even heard of a 40mm. That's a 40mm. Or that is how REV HARD has listed it. This is not the first REV HARD kit we've had trouble with. The kit is basically ours now, and almost every part save the waste gate and turbo itself was switched out for a higher quality part. The first turbo even leaked by the seals. Massive problems, we do not recommend the REV HARD kit.

Spool up? It's nuts...in fact, it's so nuts that one of his pistons has a big nasty hole in it.

Seriously at 8 psi it will burn tires of through 3 gears from a roll. Got 4 counts of knock at this boost level. Untuned I was sketch so we dropped him to 6 with a "base street tune" which he was supposed to limp on until he had money for tuning. THIS TIME it will be built correctly per my recommendation and TRAILORED to SRM Tuning for some dyno time. At this point I'll use his Hondata K-Pro B200 to tune it to sing around 300whp. The bottom end should hold up better but the head is totally stock save a Type R DC5 manifold. Any questions please ask!

My friend St00pid made over 500 whp on the stock rsx motor and 35R with Kpro and C16. K series engine is awesome!

Yeah this guy didn't want it to be tuned. I've seen them lay down over 550whp with an OEM bottom end. This customer runs 91 octane with no tune. Cybernation in Florida consistantly makes 500ish on stock lower ends. Again, TUNING is the key there.

It just blows my mind that people spend that much money on their cars and drive around without it tuned.
