yeah i suggest all the guys that have an 05 get that hose replaced..

with the service bulletins, just call your local dealer and ask them about it with the bulletin number.. also there is one for the rear wing replacement..if you have one that is flaking or fading you can get a whole new wing..they will replace it.

whats the number for the hose recall? also arent they obiligated to contact you if your car falls in those manufacter dates? i know they did that with my wifes old accord with the airbag recall. and they check the vin if it fell within the range. haha i just dont want to make a un necassary trip to the stealership, and if they get bold try to bag on ppl with mods.

You can get the part # and do it yourself, it's like a small 3" hose.

good info. I passed it to socalevo too. Wasn;t aware of the coolant hose

i got the one for the 03 evo, but my 05 was not affected.

those affected would have received the TSB in the mail shortly after it was announced. if you didnt and would like peace of mind, visit any service department. when you give them your VIN, if your car is affected, it will come up in the superscreen.

if it doesnt, you are good to go.

just a word to those who are affected by the turbo coolant hose - the dealership will replace that hose under the TSB, but you WILL loose coolant when they remove the hose. it will spill and stink in the engine bay (i knew a couple who had it done). the coolant lost WILL NOT be replaced by the dealer, so if your car is affected, buy a jug of coolant before dropping your car off to have the coolant hose replaced. coolant is a consumable that is not covered under the TSB.

hmmm....I have nothing sarcastic or quick to say to that. Damnit.

Seriously though, it started before I was done breaking the car in. Almost every 06 I've run into has had similar problems. I don't even hit 5th in the quarter and I wont race into it because of the crunch. I'm super anal. I sold my 240SX because it crunched a gear. Drove me nuts. not even worth fixing.

Definitely, mine's bad. I don't even get on the highway much anymore. I bought some new gear oil @ SRM, the name slips my mind. I haven't put it in. I want it to show up 100% OEM so I don't have to battle the area rep.

I wonder why the '05 has the coolant hose problem and none for the earlier year Evos? Did they switch companies that supply them the hoses for the '05s? That's true though, if you want to check if you year Evo has a recall sheet, just go to any dealer and give them you vin #

What if I had just seen all this now? I have an 03. My wing started flaking but I just started sanding it to re-clearcoat it so I doubt they'll cover that. But for all the other things, will they still service my car?
