Best Deal for a S2k [Archive]

Hey everyone,

My GF and I are going to buy a Honda S2000 and we're shopping around right now for the best deal. Does anybody have any hookups or know of where we should go off the bat?

I just got a civic in Honda in Burlingame. As part of the deal i asked for a test drive in the S2k. I will be picking up the car today or tomorrow and see what price they are asking for it.

thanks a lot for the feedback guys! I actually just got back from the dealership. Charlie at Mike Harvey Honda gave us a great deal and we got a brand new 06 for under invoice =P Pretty good deal since its actually a rare color too.

congrats on the new ride... i was actually bout to suggest mike harvey.. since one my mechanics good friend is sales there that gets great deals on all cars he sells to all my friends... glad u got a great deal..

Awesome! I like the S2k, it's a lot of fun to drive. However, I've heard they can be a bit tail happy...

Congrats on the new S2. I drove the 06 model and they're sweet. Everything you expect from Honda. ;p Even the torque. haha Still awesome cars, no doubt!

yeah the AP2s supposedly reduced some of the snap oversteer that the earlier years had. For 06, they also added VSA, vehicle stability assist (traction control) which is perfect since my gf will be driving it a lot.

I actually prefer the F20 over the F22 but again, since my gf will be driving it a lot, low end torque should be better for her. I don't picture her at 9000prm all the time!

I think both cars will have their strongpoints of course. Evo is way faster, turbo is fun, the steering response can't be beat and I'll of course love it on the track. At the same time for daily driving and weekend cruising, the gearbox alone of the s2k makes it a very nice drive

congrats! Before

I joined the darkside I had a 04 silverstone ap2. Had the hardtop, spoiler and side strakes.
Then real life happened and I had to get a 4 door. I do miss the car a lot however.

girlfriend + rwd = traction control is good, not to mention that there's a huge "OFF" button right behind the steering wheel

drive by wire throttle... besides no engine vibe in the pedal, i can't notice a difference

NSXs have had the same thing for years already... haven't heard any complaints.

I assume you have ABS in your car? =D

Nice! So you goinna get the factory front lip? It looks very good on the late model AP2.

As for the tailhappy nature, that's what makes it fun! :) If the car snaps, you're probably not doing something right and learning to correct your driving technique is part of the process to being a better driver. Plus if you're pushing hard enough to spin on the street, you're going too fast for your own good.

aww damn, i would of had my friend give you a goood deal on an s2k since he works at the stevens creek honda dealership. sorry i was a bit late, this is the first time i seen this thread =/

Bryan.... all the trophies are from speed skating. I used to train for shorttrack ice speed skating 6 days a week and spent most free time travelling for training camps or competitions. If you guys have heard of apolo anton ohno, i used to race him when I was little!
