Rim of the World was GREAT.

What I did: I got to man the WORKS booth since no one else was available to do so. It was actually pretty fun to meet so many people so devoted to rallying and the Evo even though it was a Subaru event. Pete from WORKS got to fix a car for RMR and chat it up with the Cobb guys for hours.

Other stuff..

I went to the NASIOC booth, just to see what they had going on there. I saw that they were selling a Best Motoring DVD (The Evo strikes back!) and commented how I was playing at the booth I was at. Then I looked at the NASIOC guy and said "Have you seen this dvd? Just so you know, the Evo wins". He just gave me a nasty look and said "cool".

If you are familiar with the WRX world, there is no way you could not know who Cobb is. I actually met Trey Cobb (the man himself) and John Hood, who is the lead programmer at Cobb. These guys are freaking brilliant and really know what the hell they are doing. In their booth, they have this nice letter from Subaru thanking them for all the work they have done and helping out the WRX market. No shit talking about anyone else, no vendor bashing, just a very professional and very technical perspective.

I saw Mike from MPJ Performance working his ass off and looking very tired. Mike definitely needed more sleep.

Lancaster itself is a pretty useless town. I talked to some locals who said that Lancaster is infamous for meth labs and that the local police department who are not so friendly. It really should be infamous for it's extreme amount of dust and lack of a *real* Starbucks.

Anyways, picture of the WORKS booth below and a video here (http://www.norcalevo.net/gallery/albums/album28/rally.avi).

Glad you had a good time Jan, always good to see some friendly faces! You were dead on regarding the sleep, I think we got a total of 6 hours in 3 days and the rally car still tried to finish on 3 wheels (don't ask!).

Works booth looked great as did the Cobb booth on it's maiden voyage prior to SEMA.
