Well, i got a IX so its a bit easier. Seeing what andy did with the speedelement shop IX, im shooting for similar numbers while spending less than $1000 total in go-fast mods while being very discrete/quiet

So far I have
-TTP Dp/Resonated TP-235
-HKS resonated mid-pipe-100
-HKS drop in-30
-magnaflow muffler-64 (will paint flat black, only a 3" tip)

To buy
-Forge MBC-70
-finish exhaust (axelback pipeing)-100?
-Fuel pump-75

So I have 300 or so for tuning, most tuners charge 150-175/hour, so hopefully I can get it done!

400 if you want ecuflash from eip...guarantee 30-40 hp on just stock evo or money back there is a post somewhere

Or you can spend the gas money and go see Scott Gray and he only charges 100 for tuning so you can have a lil something that will really add HP like a BOV....lol but really he only charges a 100 per instead of the usual 150+

Most dyno tuners around here will use ecuflash and have all the tuning equipment (laptop, wideband, etc)

its very easy to accomplish 300whp on a IX (DJ) i'm sure you will have a bit more of a challenge on a DD or Mustang Dyno
a simple Dejon or any MBC, Turbo back and a Flash will get you near your goal. Open Ecu flash has allow to make things easier for the tuners as well as the customers

I cleaned up your thread bro... just one of those days. Have you had any luck figuring out what you are going with. I was doing some shopping and the numbers to get 300 at least at RRE would be the basics plus maybe injsectors and pump. If you shop the net you can match their Stage 1 for close to a K and end up with what you want.

I still need to finish the axel back and I will be going to Andy@Speedelement to get tuned

If you still have some change get a pump so they can tune without limits... you dont wanna get there and you have to stay low on #s cause your flow is low... injectors if you have the $$
....

please explain how this will produce lower #'s ..
1. realize that the IXs have a higher flower rate fuel pump then the VIII's.
2.some cars that have been tune via flash havent had the need to do a pump to reach over 300whp, and my car was an example of that goal. (which was an 03 w/ 9.8 hot side)
3. you want to run a pump and injectors for cars that you want higher amount of boost ...and get rid off fuel cut/boost cut

#3 is what I am talking about. The guy didnt say where he would stop at and by having the fuel pump and injectors you can tune further than without. But if what RRE was telling me than maybe I shouldnt go there. I understand completely that the IX fuel pump is rated higher than the 8 also. Not so new anymore and definitely not stupid....

thats true but remember he is trying to achieve 300whp and with the less amount of $$$$ possible.. and injectors and pump can be near 500.00 (without installation)

Well, im going off Andy's IX tune. He hit 300whp on speed elements shop IX with just a fuel pump as a precaution. If anything, i can get a walbro for 75 bucks and install it myself

on a ix, you'll be near the limits of the stock fuel system at 300whp. 300whp peak is meh, go for higher average...

Ditching my 300hp dreams. A full 3" open exhaust is way too loud for my tastes

Now shooting for maximum power out of the stock cat-back 8)

Go with the RMR its deep and grumbly... its not stupid loud..or you can get the top fuel... its just slightly louder than stock... How are things coming along...

i went with the world sport axleback and a custom full3" mid pipe, throwing a RRE 24" resonator on next week

TTP test pipe, espelir 2.75" DP...then just need my tune. Likely wont hit 300whp, but its ok 8)

thats still a good setup and you have time tosave more money... Get that MBC bro and you will be alot closer.... and a pump so you can feed it when you tune it with the MBC

Here is a IX I helped tuned over email in Atlanta. He had the chance to get it on the dyno at Topspeed who is also in Atlanta.

This was actually tweaked a little over my tune for those numbers, my tune did 345/345. It had a little less timing over all since I was doing it all over email. ;) A stock evo 9 did 255/260 the same day

This IX has these mods:

3" TBE
MBC @23psi
Ebay 02 housing
Walboro
Cone Filter
*93 octane

Did I mention I hate Evo 9s?

what TBE is the IX above running? 3'' dp and cat delete or test pipe or hfc? just wondering, thanks :)

Yeah I know, I also know on a dynojet they are hitting 350whp

Im talking about 91pisstane on the local muffstank dynos. Stock IXs hit 230-235hp around here

just an update, I have fulfilled by quest. If I got used injectors, I would be below 1000 in the mod department, but the injectors/fp pushed me to 1100 or so total

That's what I'm talking about dude. I see people dumping thousands after thousand's of $ and still getting shitty results and scratching their heads as to why. :lol:

Yezzur. 310whp and 310tq on the Vishnu Dyno Dynamics dyno with those two mods alone and the stock BCS.

Tuned on 91 octane and 23psi boost.

He mentioned that he prefers to tune customer's cars with stock airboxes. Not due to more power potential or anything, but because some intakes can cause erratic MAF readings. However, this was not the case with the HKS intake.

Honestly, I don't think the stock airbox becomes a restriction until you reach about 350whp+ or so. But I like the sound from the intake. :P
