if you were going to buy a car that would allow you to compete in autox, road racing and drag racing....what would you choose? I'm talking about cars for the common man (not porsches or other supercars)Like Sub 40k cars?

I think the EVO and STi definately fall into the category...

others I can think of:
Eclipse GSX
MR2 Turbo
RX-7

all while getting the groceries?

;) Why the Rally Monsters of course. haha

Altho I have to ask...is this stock or tuned? Tuned there are so many others I'd choose for cheaper. the MPS3 for example. =D

getting groceries would be a nice option but not required.

availbility of upgrades and replacement parts would be a factor

and the ability to be competitive out of the box would be nice as well considering most people start with a budget that is just enough to buy the vehicle, fix things and get tires

hmm...having the Evo already I should think outside the box...and get past my huge wing complex. ;)

I'd say the MPS3 on the low end and the S2 on the high end.

ya, evo definately rules this category....but if I move back to canada, I can't take it back with me and can't convince myself to only track + autox a 36k car.

MSP3 = mazda speed protege 3? whats an S2?

S2 = short for Honda S2000.

MPS3 is the new Mazdaspeed3. I might've gotten the letters mixed up in my dyslexia. ;)

^ looks good and has a huge trunk/hatch. Performs well also. I can't wait til ZoomZoomlive to test drive one. :D

I thought that he meant an Audi S2 (http://images.google.com/images?q=audi+s2&num=100&hl=en&hs=dXQ&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=X&oi=images&ct=title)- That's what I get for reading too much rally news.

I have actually been avoiding it recently, since I haven't watched Germany and Finland yet. Some friends of mine used to campaign an S2 before the big SCCA rules change that outlawed a lot of older cars...that were beating the new ones. :)

I say a Bus, you can get lots of groceries with it and then for autox, just ram into people or run over them cones :D

civic? for autoX and drag? thats wishful thinking. i agree with showoff about the mazdaspeed 3 but also check out the mazdaspeed 6. AWD turbo for 40 grand. falls in the same category as the lan evo and STi. What about the Volkswagen R34? lots of good stuff out there... just gotta look for it
