Looking into getting a new car, price ranging from 30-60k
Currently I am looking into the CaymanS or Lotus Elise (No Exige, doesn't worth it + I hate that ugly shell)
looking toward purchasing it at the end of this year. I have test drive both of this cars already and yet have no clue which one to go for.
Please charm in if you know any Pros and Cons about this 2 cars or other opinion. I am also willing to look into similar vehicle
in this price range as well(Sedan, Coupe, etc.)

I test drove the Cayman S before, and my opinion of it is that for the price you can get something better. The handling is very good however, but the power was lacking, even in "S" trim. Brakes are solid, suspension is nice and tight, interior is fairly comfortable. But it's loud inside. Kinda to be expected though with it being mid engine and all. I thought the luxury aspects of the car are typical to Porsche standards. Good BOSE stereo system, and there's a cell phone interface which allows you to pop your SIM card into a slot in the center console. Kinda like Bluetooth. Overall, for $60-$70k I would rather get a used 996 C4S, maybe even a 996 C2 Cabrio since those are pimp. 8)

How about a BMW? The new M3 will be out late next year. Or there's that twin-turbo 335i. That thing could use a nice pair of used evo 8 turbos. :)

I second the 335I.. that car is going to easily be making 375rwhp with just a few boltons and tuning.. perfect car for a girl that also wants to go fast, without being over the top flashy nor breaking the bank.

i like the exige better over the elise. If you do get one, have lotus drop in a Honda K20 R motor instead of the toyota 2zz motor. :P

Sure is... but not sure if Lotus will actually go out of their way and order a honda over a toyota engine. LoL* :P

They will do the K20. In fact, I could give them a call and hassle them about it. THEY work for US. What they should really do is sell you a rolling chassis that you drop a motor into, so it's a 'kit car' type deal. It helps to register/buy it somewhere other than CA and then import it. Well, it's an idea at least. But yeah, K20 would be wonderful.

The lotus is a kool car, but definately not daily driver material. I've driven a few fast ones before (Forced Fed Turbo Elise) and it was definately an awesome experience, but there are somethings about the car namely the way its put together from everything to the dashboard to the wiring on the tail lights make it seem very overpriced. IHMO, it is more an expensive toy for people whom have money to throw around than a car I would like to drive everyday.

If I were to spend 60k on a car, it probably be a used porche turbo or c6 vette.

Porsche 996 TT hands down. Especially if you're looking to spend in the neighborhood of $70k. Why you gonna go out and get some Lotus for $50k that's basically an aluminum tub with some plastic around it and a Toyota motor? LOL. If you want something fun to drive around the track and is even street legal, go get a T-Rex. http://www.go-t-rex.com/owners_pictures/2006-10-13_10436.BMP
