You're motherfuckin' right for reals. I just got permission to build it at work- full CNC machine shop, 5x10ft CNC router, TIG, MIG, and bird-poop welders, forklift, and a place to sleep.

I should be more specific so I can mooch parts and shit off all you guys:

Currently, the whole thing will be built from a miata donor. I'll use rear suspension & brakes, front spindle/hub/brakes, motor/transmission, ECU, etc.
If I went with a bike motor, there's a ton more custom work to be done that I fear would dissuade me from finishing the project, and I would still need a miata donor for all the other parts. One of the big issues is reversing gears, most people build an extra starter onto the diff input and have "electric reverse" rather than buying a $1k reversing box. The fun thing about a reverse box is that you can go 140mph backwards.
I wish the 4g63t were lighter and not so tall so I could do one longitudinally FR style- I don't want to build a mid-engine car.

Nope. I'm starting off with the engineering on the seven, since that's free.

Holy old thread bump batman. I haven't been able to do anything with this project for a while, since i lost the space I was going to use to do the build. And I haven't been able to sell my car yet either, but I'll do it eventually.
