    Default How to: Install your Brake Line

    Wait for car to cool down, jack up front and rear take off wheels =)



    1. Front Brake Lines: Take off the clips to lose the brake line!




    2. Unscrew the top of the line




    3. Unscrew the bottom line on the calipers




    4. To put the line back on go 3 > 2 > 1 ( the middle clip is really hard to put on, if you can't u can use 2 zip ties to tie it down =) )


    5. Rear Lines: Go to the back tires unclip the clip




    6. Unscrew the line




    7. Put the line back go 6>5


    8. To bleed the Car

    Default How to: Install your Brake Line

    The only thing I would add is that if your front brake line doesn't have anything to secure it in place on the clip attached to the wheel strut (i.e. it can just slide freely back and forth inside the clip), then slide it back as far as possible (make sure the line isn't pulled tight when the wheel is fully turned in either direction), and use a zip tie around the brake line or maybe some other kind of clip to keep the line from sliding forward.

    I kept hearing this faint rubbing sound sometimes (especially when turning) and later discovered that my FR brake line had slid forward a bit and was brushing against the inside edge of the wheel :shock:, stripping the rubber coating and exposing the stainless steel (and things could have gotten much worse had the problem continued).

    yes your currect! Make sure after you install the line drive around see if you hear any rubbings! if you do then go back and adjust the lines either up or down!

    yes, happened to my buddy's subaru at sears point, but it actually busted, coming down the hill into the braking zone in turn 4, eek! probably the only place in sears something like that could happen and you can get away from it unharmed.
