This thing was on Slickdeals at a clearance item sometime back.

It was for like $80-$120, it is definitely not worth the $200+

Dont really want to go over $300. So anything under that is fine. I'm expecting around the $250 range, but can spend up to $300. I found the cable for the ipod -> deck for $22 shipped on amazon.

This one looks promising, it even shows album art from the ipod and has the big center wheel like a regular iPod. Honestly any head unit that is compatible with the ipod should do. You're keeping the crap stock speakers so your sound quality is limited anyway. If I were you I would just look for a head unit that is easy to use with intuitive controls and wouldn't look totally fugly in the dash.

Yeah. I'm keeping the stock speakers so I'm not looking for anything that fancy. I just want to listen to shit from my ipod. lol. Just wanted to see what you guys were using so I can get an idea what to look for.

Then just get that one adapter that Mitsubishi makes for the stock stereo unit. I think Ryan got it a while back. That's cheap, you can use the money you save on not buying a new head unit to buy like 200+ songs from itunes or something.

No, I tried a quick search but only found the one for the Outlander for $130. I remember a thread on evom about it with a vendor selling them. I don't remember how much it cost but even if it's anything like the Outlander price then maybe it might be worth it to upgrade the head unit to aftermarket. Unless you feel comfortable spending $130+ and still have the stock head unit.
