    check visual appearence of plug electrode, if still good, gap to .024 and you should be set

    JUst have Jay check it out for you and he'll be able to tell you what it is...or anyshops in the bayarea(m4,se,gst,fft etc)

    I have my service engine light come on back in the day...and i had se check it and it was my manual boost controller.. the lines came on and was loose...so yea if you want to find out just have someone do it for you.

    If the car "feels weird" like you said then I wouldn't just disable the routine in the ECU. That doesn't correct the problem it just tells the computer to stop doing that check and to stop throwing the error code.

    I would only do that if you were 100% sure that your engine isn't misfiring, otherwise you have no way of knowing other than the feel of it.

    IMO, the easiest/cheapest thing to diagnose is the plugs. So start with that. But, like I said, I'm not a mechanic.

    ummm...it did it like twice between 3500-4000rpm (about 3 weeks apart...)

    was the with the Service Engine Light on or off? and if its some thing that you can simulate everytime, then i would say that you have a real misfire. with that said check your plugs, make sure they are gapped properly. go .024 to start.....

    The P0300 is notoriously common on the 03's (not sure about other years), but if your car feels weird then yes there could be some other stuff going on. For some, the P0300 could only be disabled by ecu method.
