Default 2nd & 4th gears grind at high rpm

My 2nd and 4th gears grind at high rpm. It doesnt when normal driving though. Is it the clutch? Tranny? Clutch has 2k miles on it. (exedy stage 1 w/ lightweight Flywheel) anyone?? TIA

it might be the Synchro's on those gears. after driving it last night, and since we already removed the restrictor pill, it should help the clutch engage/dis-engagement. But your 2nd & 4th grinds.

It could most likely is the transmission and possibly fluid needs to be changed again. If the fluid does not do the trick it will be synchros.

Didn't they swap the fluids out when you did the clutch???

If so and it's still grinding it's most likely the synchros.

How many miles on the trans?

If you need some help we have a tech that re-builds our transmissions and we can do specific gear ratios for your needs.

For instance if you prefer the longer 1st gear out of the evo9 since you already have the preferred evo8 3rd and 4th.

Often times if it's clutch related it will be more of a dis-engagement issue rather than a grind but crappy thing is that you never know until you take it apart.

Has there been a lot of metallic material when you drain the trans fluid?

What fluid do you have in there?
