Thread: KW Variant 3 settings for rain

Default KW Variant 3 settings for rain

Currently, I have the bump set to 75% stiff all around and the rebound set at 1.5 turns up front and 0.5 in back. My spring settings are 12K Front, 14K back. For dry, it rocks. But for auto-x in the rain, I really suffer grip wise.

I obviously need to soften the suspension for that, but I'm not sure what to set it to and it takes more than a few auto-x runs to properly take time to adjust. (That and it's a bitch to adjust bump since it's under the car).

    Does anyone have any recommendations?

Hey you soup sammich. Dang Bay Area has more rain than Washington...
Leave your suspension settings as is, but lower your tire pressures because of less grip...and you're welcome...

well usually less traction=softer, but if its causing an extreme under/oversteer condition then soften up the front or rear more accordingly.

I had slight overstear, which is what I wanted, but it felt more like the car was gliding than gripping.

Now that I think about it though, part of it could have been the surface. I remember running my foot over it and feeling oily.

Could be a ton of things. Possibly your alignment as well. Without testing durring the same conditions theres really no way to tell exactly what it is or what could be done, but I do know that high sping rates and stiff sway bars are not good for low grip conditions so your only real option is to drop pressure unless you had alignment tools at the track.

hehe it was drifting time :-).

Alignment was straight, -2.5 degrees front camber, -1.0 back. 0 toe. Well, I'll have more time to play in the rain today hopefully and figure something out.
