Day 1...Well so far, SRM told me they don't have anymore WW and I e-mailed SCM and they quoted me 28,999.00 for a IX. I can't get there with my mom since shes probably busy and I can't get her to co sign.

You must be saving all that hostile fire/iminent danger pay, combat zone tax exclusion, foreign duty pay, family separaton allowance (if married). what kind of per diem are you drawing there? i think the dealership can ship you the car if you don't want to drive down to pick it up. i think it maybe around $400-500 bones to do.

RgistRdShowoffIX
09-02-2006, 10:27 AM
that and the papers can be shipped for signing as well.

problem is that you wont get to see the car until it's in front of your house.

unless you fly down first and agree on it.

I was at SRM yesterday and they had a beautiful WW IX MR sitting in the showroom. They also had a bunch of SE's in black and GG, the hyperblack BBS wheels look hot!

Jay just intends to buy a base IX. Extra trimmings come later. ;)

Or so I think that's his plan.

I e-mailed snorre if he has any SE's and he didn't reply lol. So I might slap someone eles with my money. But all my pay is coming from my BAH, I make a extra 1800 a month from that. So if I did all my math and everything I make about 3800 per month x 7 = Evo. and then I pay about 200 each month if I can get my mom to co sign and talk to the dealership.

I would love to get that WW IX MR if it didn't put such a big hole in my pocket so, I couldn't go out anymore. lol We'll see whats up when I get home. But then again, I want to get a jump start on this so, when I do get home, All I have to do is sign the papers and drive off happy and smiling.

I don't think the SE's are going to be available in white, but don't quote me on that. I know that SRM said they had a few more coming in, but white was not mentioned. Alas I had a feeling the MR would put you over budjet, however there was a white IX RS tucked away in the corner yesterday aswell.

I agree, unless you are going to build a real race car, get a GSR or MR over the RS. While I can appreciate the concept, it's not really saving much weight over the non-sunroof GSR or MR. 50lbs at the most.

its all sales talk...bleh

i beleive hb mitsu and SCM are in the same boat...

plus i think they have a $500 mitsu loyalty rebate if you have a mitsu trade in.

*shrug*

RgistRdShowoffIX
09-08-2006, 04:55 PM
don't all Mitsu's have the Loyalty rebate?

Anyway. I was at SRM today. No WW except RS (3) and MR (2). They have the new SE models in both IX and MR trim. (I have no clue what makes the MR 1k more but they are at 37k.)

And as I was showing Beau my 2din conversion a full trailer of SE's just rolled in. ;) AS, TB, and GG SE and SE MR trims.

The do look better in person but still not enough to justify a trade up. Oh and the recaros are breathtaking. well i exagerate but they are quite nice with the red trim. :)

HIDs are a beauty as well as that new front lip and BBS (I'm one of the few, I guess, that like the "diamond-black finish")
Wonder how much that lip'll cost me. ;) I'll do a WW and TB color scheme to rival Dave's EB/WW

 8)

Just FYI Jay

I guess I might have to get a TB IX or go down south to get my WW. =/ So much thinking to do, but, I'm pretty sure that I have to stay up here to get the co sign signature and don't want to waste to much of her time. My mums in that case. Yeah... SE eh.. Too much, I even thought about getting a used 03-04 or something just to save money.

Jbig's car was at serramonte honda. I'm not sure if is still there. Serramonte has had those evo's for a while now and just got in some SE's and MR SE. For the longest time I thought they were closed until I saw some EVO's pop up there and I stopped to check pricing.

THRILLING VISUAL AND PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENTS AT AN EXCELLENT VALUE DISTINGUISH 2006 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION SE

Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) is applying the "Special Edition" treatment to its critically acclaimed ninth-generation Lancer Evolution. The 2006 Lancer Evolution SE offers special features at a competitive price of $33,249 MSRP to make this legendary performance vehicle even more thrilling. The new SE trim level represents the final enhancement to a Lancer Evolution body style that has been on sale in the U.S. market since 2003.
Inside the Special Edition trim level, supportive, red-stitched RECARO® seats accentuate the interior while the exterior receives a new front airdam extension that adds style while reducing front end lift. A lightweight aluminum roof panel, also found on the Lancer Evolution RS and MR, helps control body roll by lowering the vehicle's center of gravity. The feather weight 17" forged BBS® alloy wheels, now in a new "Diamond Black" finish, add style while reducing unsprung weight to improve suspension performance. The SE trim level also includes high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights with halogen fog lamps giving the vehicle a distinctive look. The available exterior color choices for the Lancer Evolution SE are Apex Silver, Graphite Gray and Tarmac Black.
True to the Lancer Evolution's heritage, the SE is powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder DOHC intercooled-turbocharged engine with Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing and Electronic Control (MIVEC) that is mated to a rugged 5-speed transmission.

The revised airdam, Recaro® seats with red stitching, and forged BBS® wheels with "Diamond Black" finish are available on the MR trim level as well in the form of an Appearance Package which sells for $500.00.

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) is responsible for all manufacturing, finance, sales, marketing, research and development operations of the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in the United States. Mitsubishi Motors sells coupes, convertibles, sedans and sport utility vehicles through a network of approximately 540 dealers.

Update: So basically every dealer that I emailed said that they would match South Coast Mitsubishi's prices so I'm not sure what's up anymore because its awkward how they're all willing to go that low since they're not volume dealers. Maybe they just all want me to come by to check out the cars and yeah.

I might just go to SRM and get a black one and do it in person.

Eh, I might just pick up a used IX lol :D gah..Can't do crap over just e-mail lol.

Yeah a lot of the dealers told me to come down to the dealer for a test drive and then they'll talk about the price. Email and phone is like ehh, you just got to go down in person.

06IXMR

And slap them with the cash. I'ma go down to SRM in mid Oct :D

Print out the email with the price, south coasts price, and pwn them if they try anything funny. They basically need to get rid of the IXs at this point, no choice

I did ALL of my negotiating on the phone(about 30 minutes total). I just went in, check out the car to make sure it had no dents/dings/scratches, checked the mileage (6 miles), then sat down and started to work on the paperwork

I went to the South Coast Ad on this site, and on the advertisement, it doesn't have the Evo IX Mr anymore, but they have the IX MR SE. What's up with that?

UCB
09-21-2006, 05:08 PM
all the new MRs are SE only, same with the GSR. Production of the regular RS, GSR, and MR stopped awhile back

Mystique
09-21-2006, 06:12 PM
So I could still probably get the Evo IX MR for $32,999 or less than since the SE is 33,999. Well this weekend I'm planning to go visit some dealers with my parents and I'll tell you guys how that goes.

I'm leaning towards a used car now lol.... It all depends on the price and how I feel in the end I guess.

UCB
09-22-2006, 08:49 AM
Most of the used ones I see FS are still going for the same price as the new ones. People have large loans and are upside already and tryign to pay them off :P

And they paid 30k+ OTD with tax, so they think they can sell a used one for 30k

06IXMR
09-22-2006, 08:52 AM
So far, dealerships have offered right below invoice, I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing by buying this car and see if I'm going ot keep it for a while :D

UCB
09-22-2006, 08:55 AM
Well I got mine well below invoice a few months back, I would not settle for anything else

Like I said, I paid 28,300 for GSR with lojack. Invoice is 30k or so

06IXMR
09-22-2006, 11:06 AM
Best offer I got was 28,499 with mil. discount >.>.. for a 06 GSR IX

UCB
09-22-2006, 12:20 PM
thats still not a bad deal at all

Southcoast is 28,599 or 27,999 for EB or RR. If you factor in the cost of a one way plane ticket down there and the gas back and all your time, the 28,499 from a local deal is a better deal

06IXMR
09-22-2006, 08:14 PM
Yeah thats what I was thinking. I'll be home soon enough to actually talk to people in person. :D

I told him to check there as well. They have had the IX RS and a couple MR's sitting there for a while now.

06IXMR
09-25-2006, 10:16 AM
Yeah I e-mailed them but, they never got back to me. And I'm leaning towards a GSR since the RS how no power anything and for 30gs with no power nothing? Lol...Thats just me and MR I think is out of my league in money wise...

Once I told San Mateo my quote from one other dealership, they stopped talking to me lol...So far I only have 2 dealerships in mind which are Steven's Creek, lol...... and SRM...but, everyone knows I'm going to SRM.

Like I said, I got a great deal at capitol. They are the same dealership group as SC. I got the same price at SC as I did at capitol, but I got capitol to give me free lojack. 31k OTD was the price for a GSR

MRvengeance
10-07-2006, 08:28 PM
SC didn't want to deal with me once i showed them the price that south coast was selling them for. this is back in feb-march, so things could've changed by now............

UCB
10-08-2006, 05:58 PM
when i bought mine (june 30th), SC was willing to do 28,300 (better than SC), no questions asked. I only bought from capitol because they threw in free lojack

10-09-2006, 11:21 AM
I guess I'll give them a call today.

UCB
10-09-2006, 03:44 PM
yeah man, I dont see why you are having such issues getting a decent price. Perhaps they dont take you as a serious buyer. Walk in, tell them i will buy this car RIGHT NOW for THIS price. If they say now, leave your number and tell them to give you a call if they reconsider.

I basically did the same thing on the phone. I called em, I said I will be there in 2hrs if you give me this price. They simply said yes

06IXMR
10-10-2006, 02:33 PM
They would be smart to say yes to a buyer who just walks in and buys the car right out of their hands.

MAB1025
10-10-2006, 02:59 PM
I dont think that dealerships really care whether or not you pay cash or finance. Either w ay they get all of their money. It's just less work for them if you pay all in cash.

UCB
10-10-2006, 03:34 PM
they actually prefer you finance it

MAB1025
10-10-2006, 04:52 PM

That would make sense since they make money off of the loan...

I got it for 28,099 from Capital, they did a dealership trade with Stevens Creek to get my black one. The Dealer tried to get me at 32,xxx + destination + fees. I was really about to smack this guy up side the head with my cell. We talked for like 2 minutes and he got me my price with my military discount. They had a white one with like 34 miles + the 10 miles from their storage area " Stevens Creek " so I woulda got the car like at 44 miles. The Black one had 13 miles then he had to bring the car to me from Stevens Creek so I got the car at 23 miles. Eh I didn't want to be too picky and I already wasted 5 hours there. So I went with the guy to Stevens Creek to get my black one. Well I'm cleaning out the garage today and I'm taking the car out so I'll take pics then lol. :D
