230 kind of pricey but works sells their resonated test pipe for like 170 and it LOOKS like a test pipe. I want stealth, power, and resonation hard to beat the RRE rally cat.

Then don't buy it? It's not for everyone. It's worth it to me for piece of mind. It's not just a test pipe, its a test pipe with a full 3" resonator and fabricated heat shields.

They dont even need to look under it, they can simply tap it with a stick. If its just a piece of pipe they will know.

UCB, which resonated test pipe do you use? Do EVO VIII test pipes fit IX's? VIII have the o2 sensor on the cat-back and the IX have it on the cat right?

Yest Evo 8 test pipes and HFC cats work on evo 9's if you have an aftermarket catback. You just run the rear 02 to the midpipe instead of the cat area.

Just remember you need one of these with either "hi-flow cats." If you guys plan on ordering one, just make be sure to specify what kind of downpipe and exhaust you have. Alot of time you would stick the downstream o2 into the one that goes in the exhaust.

So the rre rally cat comes with pre-welded mounting flanges for a specific dp and cb?

Yes, they bolt up direct to any DP and Catback that has the normal 2-bolt flanges.

Both will fit the EVO 8 or 9. Only time when we would stick a bung on the "cat" itself is when someone weird and request it. But I don't understand why would you want to run a aftermarket downpipe and a "hi-flow cat" with a stock exhaust system. :shrug.

All aftermarket exhaust, made for the EVO 8 will fit the EVO 9. You just need to plug up the secondary o2 since the EVO 9 o2 sensor sit in the middle of the cat itself. If you plan on getting any test pipe or "hi-flo cat" you would stick your secondary/downstream o2 to your exhaust. Unless you have a some way of restricting the exhaust to the o2 sensor. It will trip a code. You can either 1. take out your CEL light bulb, 2. /ignore it, or 3. get one these little adapter that move the o2 sensor out of the exhaust flow.

I just finished the install, it took about 30-40 mins. The car feels great, throttle response feels better and the exhaust seems to drone less in cabin. It almost sounds quieter then the Works HFC. Satisfied customer!

For those who's interested in the RRE Rally cats. If you purchase one for the month of October I'll throw in the CEL o2 simulator for 1/2 price off for you Norcal guys. And to those who already purchased one recently hit me up privately and I'll give you some cool trinkets on your next order.

EDIT: For Norcal member with Norcal zipcodes only.

Im running tanabe DP with Vishnu CB, I think the rallycat will bolt up to any dp/cb that works with the stock cat, since the flanges are in the same location. Since Works stuff uses OEM mounting flanges/brackets, Im sure you will be fine.

Has anybody here gone from a HFC, to a test pipe and then to the RRE rally "cat"? I like the extra power of my 3" test pipe over my old 3" HFC but the noise (even off the throttle) is a little much. Plus I might as well grab my ankles and get directions to the nearest smog ref if a halfway intelligent cop pulls me over with that test pipe.
