Anyone know what the STi A-Line is? Seemed to be powerful enough to pass the MR up on the straights!

The STi A-line is basically the STi Limited that we get in U.S

Ah I see. I wonder if that A-Line STi has any additional engine mods or ECU tuning like the S204's do. Both those Subarus seemed to be able to pass the EVO's with no problem.

Looks like it took most of the event to reel in the EVO's. Exiting accelleration for the Non MR* EVO seemed better then the Subies..The pass at the end was like the the EVO's IC got heat soaked or something. Bet Spec-C has a IC sprayer .

Are the STI's in Japan still 2.0L?

Yes, and they have twin scroll turbos like the EVO's do. USDM STi's are still using the older single scroll design, but have more displacement to make up the difference.

Cool, thought so. I'da thought a 2.5L would have passed us alot sooner.

A little bit more on top end. But the VF34 the Ver.7 Spec C uses isn't much bigger than the VF39 the USDM STi comes with.

Every time they run the Evos and STIs on that course the Subarus win. The big long uphill run gives the advantage to the board torque of the Subarus. You'll notice that the Evos are more composed through the corners. Plus the Spec C is a stripped out track version which should be compared to the Evo RS.

You guys should check out Hot Version Vol. 82 which is the tuned Evos vs STIs on Tsukuba. Then you'll see that the modified STIs just can't keep up. :)

Another thing to keep in mind with these things is its 90% driver 10% car.

Word. The red Evo driver was a cowboy and completely fluxored the corner before the straight when he was passed by the white Suby. The white suby driver was cleanest and most consistent throughout the "race."

The driver of the Red MR was none other than Keiichi Tsuchiya "Dori Dori" himself. LOL.

nevertheless from that camera angle it did look like he ran way wide.

It looked like he ran it out and tried to cut back at a sharper angle, either way that line was different than the line the rest of the pack took.

Interesting stuff though
