I only gained 3whp(peak) with the K&N drop in and actually lost about 6lbs./ft(peak) of torque.

Damn, that doesn't sound very promising. Do you know why you lost so much torque?

The EVO MAF doesnt like it when you change the intake variables...I would stick with the stock filter/intake if i were you. Ive heard numerous times that the stock intake/filter is good for up to 500hp.

Hmm... that's interesting, have other people with the K&N drop-in filter had similar results?

I sell the K&N drop in for $69. Let me know if you're insterested.

I dont think anyone else has dynod with that being the only change between sessions.

One good thing I did notice is that the power and torque curves seem to be a lot more smooth with the K&N vs. without. Check out my other post to compare the graphs for yourself.

ive heard that the drop in filter doesnt affect the readings only when theres too much oil on the surface itself that it affects it

Physically, the oil itself can cause issues with your MAF...as far as the readings of the MAF, any change in airflow (i.e. aftermarket filter) will effect it.

Not saying you shouldnt buy one....just sharing experience.

if there is a concern for oil, you should try a dry filter like the HKS. both filters have their ups and downs. my torque stayed steady at around 254 on all my dyno runs, so i don't believe that the hks drop in filter caused a drastic decrease in torque. then again, i have not dyno'd my car w/o it, so my assumptions are not on the dot.
