Factory launch-limiter is 5000rpm
Factory rev-limiter is 7606rpm
then how come i witnessed both my friends take it up higher than 7606 rpm before? also they were both in stock form never touhed anything basically new from dealer untouched... 1 was broken in at like 5k? and other was at like 700 hahahahOriginally Posted by bryan@GST

Engine damage beyond 7,000 rpm? I once took it to 8,000 rpm for a good 3 seconds before cutting off, how bad would that be?
Bryan, I'm not questioning your superior knowledge of evos or trying to start an argument, but I know what I saw, and 2 of my friends saw it too, I saw it at 8k which is why I cut off.
We had a recording but the quality was really bad and can't see it.
