Thread: Who double clutches here?

I only double clutch when my car is warming up, the first to second gear transition can be a bit hard to shift when cold so I just double clutch there. It doesnt seem to have this problem in any other gear and I dont have to double clutch when it is warmed up. But I rev match almost every downshift and heel toe when braking is needed with a downshift.

I don't think you need to double clutch anymore since most cars on the road have syncros in the transmissions. You only need to double clutch if you're driving one of those big rigs. Otherwise I just blip the throttle when downshifting. I still find it funny when people just downshift and let the clutch drag a little before engaging.

I don't even need the clutch, I just pull it out of gear and i slam it into the next one and I hear a bit of grinding but, #$@#$ it!

Do the synchros function when you are shifting with the engine off? I installed a short-shifter a few weeks ago and thought I had really screwed up when I realized how hard it was to go from 1st to 2nd - but I was testing with my engine off.

i do it all the time, its better for the transmission and clutch to disengage the gear completely before downshifting. it looks badass too when you got people in the car
